Description Another entry to that fictional “movie” I got running in my head, the second sequel to my first original slasher idea “Hunting Grounds” ([link] ) now featuring Merry Angel F. , another OC killer by , who agreed to me to use her (but, I only did the likeness. Merry Ann F. in here, for those who knows her, is a totally different Merry F. with her relationship with the Firefly clan, rather than known through out the story, is only hinted. I did this to preserve rights. i don't like taking credit for something i didn't made.)

This story is a sequel to [link]

A possible fourth entry is on the way. Although this is supposed to be the last, I had this idea of a more claustrophobic winter setting after watching “The Strangers” which I finally had on DVD.

Detailed synopsis:

Exterior, Night…the small town of Grey Creek in is laid down in the quite night, until gunshots where heard. In one run-down building, screams and gunshots broke the peaceful night as rouge assassin Merry Angel killed off the last remaining residents and tenants as her accomplice, Mildred, helps. Unknown to them, the cops where called and surrounds the premises. By the time Merry threw out one of her victims through the window, she finally saw the cops and told her accomplice to flee as ordered by “the boss”. But unfortunately, the troopers got in and hunt them down; Mildred distracts them by pushing off Merry to them as he made an escape. Merry killed off most of the cops anyway before she got outnumbered and taken to custody.

It then skips to the Town’s office; Mayor Bill Midvale received a call about the murders. He appeared to be shock and tells them that he’ll drop by. At the police station, Merry glares at the guards as Bill finally came in. He asked her whether she told them anything about their agreement: Merry and Mildred is hired by Bill to murder and rob numbers of locations around the town in order to buy the land cheap. Merry told him that she didn’t, giving a sense of relief to the man. He went out to make a phone call, calling two more hit men to finish her to make sure she wouldn’t talk.

The two hit men came, dressed as state troopers, and took Merry to “transport” her to a better prison. She went berserk and threatens Bill that she will tell them if he doesn’t let her go. Bill remained quiet and watches as the two men took her away.

In the road, the two reveal themselves are killers and took Merry to the forest, where one of them stabs her. Injured, yet still unfazed, Merry kicked the knife wielder and bites down on his neck, ripping it open before his accomplice pulls her away. She kicks again and manages to run. While in the woods, she grabs a sharp rock and hid as the remaining hit man pulls out his gun looking for her. She drops down from a tree and got shot by the hit man’s bullet. Hit in the shoulder, she still stabs the man with the rock before ramming it to his eye and forcing it deeper by hitting it on the dirt. The wound from the knife stab finally succumbs and she fell unconscious.

Merry woke up after she felt like she was being poked on the face; she blurredly saw two boys looking at her and asking a woman whether they’re gonna eat her. The woman answered no. Then and there, Merry grow conscious and sees that she’s inside a house. A browned hair woman greets her and warmly welcomes her in her home. Slightly surprised, she sees that he injuries are tended, which the brown haired woman claims that a family doctor helped out. Her name was Belle and she’s the matriarch of the clan she is staying with. The boys introduced themselves as Rob and John (Robbie and Johnnie) and excited to tell her that they saw what she did. Shocked, Merry reaches for her gun, but before she could, a large towering man with a rubber skull mask (reminiscent from the second sequel) came in carrying the corpse of the two hit men. Belle told the giant to place them at the meat hooks, which finally made it clear that they’re maniacs. Later, four more people arrived: Geinny and Yuki, two surviving killers from the previous story (with Yuki, now not wearing his blonde wig and wears a black sweater, showing off a rather feminine figure), a man with a gaping socket named Ben Gaskins (Dr. Benny) and James Norman, the patriarch of the reaper clan. The four greets Merry and welcomes her for dinner. Merry passed that offer after seeing the bodies being cooked. Yuki suggested that she should eat the meals they eat for that’s all they serve, Belle disagrees with him and offers Belle a platter of pizzas which they got from a victim’s car a few days ago.

During the meal, James told Merry what happened while she was unconscious: Johnnie and Robbie heard the shouting from before and decided to watch what was happening. The two boys saw Merry’s skills and quickly informed Belle. The rest of the family also recognized her from the papers as the “Lone Bullet Killer” captured a few years ago and released after the court failed to find her guilty due to lack of evidence. “Gus” (the giant) brought her in and had Ben tend her wounds. James then asked what happened. Merry told her side of the story: She once knew a family like these; in fact she was in loved with one of the members. But somehow, the cops got hold of them and they were all executed, including her lover. Despite the lost, she decided to survive and move on, seeing it that “He would want it that way”. She had an underground “murder for hire” business that was recently answered by a local Town Mayor Bill Midvale. She told them his plans and his treason, which caught James’ attention.

Later that night, Merry woke up from a nightmare about her pass family and their deaths, and overhears James and Belle having sex. She decided to walk outside and reminisce about the events from before. There, a blonde trucker-like fella greets her. Merry thought he was a by passer, but the man chuckled at her idea and revealed himself to be a part of the family after showing him a picture of him and Gus behind a large pick up truck. The two talked about her intentions for vengeance, as well as her journey to become stronger. The trucker, named H.E. Luke (Luke the fluke), feels for Merry and told her that he was the same. His family was murdered by a man who was never caught; out of anger, he hunted the man down and killed him, before eating his flesh. Because of this he was marked insane and was sent to the same mental hospital that James and Belle were transported to. She told Merry that if she wanted revenge, she’ll be needing numbers…

It then cuts to another room piled with bodies and pieces of flesh (again, reminiscent of the “hook-kill” location from the previous story). This time, a woman bound to a pole struggles helplessly as she is barb-wired and a man in a welding mask approaches her with a flamethrower. She pleads to be let go, but the welding man remains quiet and puts down his flamethrower. Just as the woman thought he’s gonna let her live, the welding man stabs her under her jaw, muting her, as he grabs the flamethrower again and roasts her alive.

Moving to morning, Mildred felt guilty about abandoning Merry. While inside his house, he heard noises coming from the back door. As he went to investigate, a man in a surgeon’s get-up with him in the head with a fire poker, rendering him unconscious. Moments later, he woke up and found himself paralyzed. He was dragged to a nearby lake and was surrounded by a family of masked men and women. One of them revealed herself to be Merry (wearing a cherub mask) and threatens to kill him by the time some of the other members returned with Bill. Fluke, with Yuki and the twins, came back and says that the mayor was out of town and hadn’t told anyone to where. Enraged, Merry stabs Mildred on the crotch and asks him whether he knows where he is. Mildred, out of fear of dying, tells her that the mayor went with his family to a private mansion on Lime Barrens Lake, a place he bought in Massachusetts. Satisfied, Merry walks away; Mildred pleads to her to be helped. Merry answered to her former companion “No witnesses”, signaling Gus to murder him with a crowbar.

At Lime Barrens, where’s introduced to Mayor Bill’s family, who came in for a family reunion. Marie Midvale, the wife of Bill, is having problems coping with Annie Bays Midvale, their 16 yr old daughter, as she appears to be always sober and hates her father. Her younger brother, Thaddeus “Teddy” Midvale is a high-spirited lad, often loved by most of the family members (save Annie). Other patrons were Uncle Charles, brother of Bill, his wife Nannie, their children Arthur (9, like Teddy) and Melvina Midvale (17), Melvina’s boyfriend George Gen. Other tenants were maids Augusta and Mila, butler Raymond, groundskeeper Ford and cook Pickette.

Annie is apparently taunted by her cousin for being absent-minded and somewhat creepy; pointing out that she’ll never have a boyfriend like her. A small brawl between girls ensues but was soon stopped by the patriarchs. Bill sends his daughter to her room, angry at her misbehavior. It’s revealed here that Annie has a social problem and apparently, Annie knows about her father’s crime, but couldn’t bring out the courage to tell her family about it for fearing that she may lose them. (Since she has no friends, her family is all what she got, despite the imperfections)

That afternoon, a rain forecast revealed a storm in their way, Bill asked everyone to get everyone by nightfall to prepare for it. Outside, Ford notices a man in a pumpkin mask (Geinny) staring at him. Ford simply chuckles at he man’s appearances and even poked fun at him, angering Geinny. The killer pulls out his knives and threw one at Ford, which went to his stomach. Ford tried to run, but Geinny caught him and savagely stabs him. The rest steps out of the car and took Ford’s body. James ordered everyone to scatter and “stick with the plan”.

While putting back gardening tools, Mila heard footsteps behind her. She easily dismissed this and proceeds to do her biddings. Inside the tool shack, she notices that some of the tools were missing (an axe, pitchfork, rake and a handsaw). She informs Augusta about this, but she clearly explained that Ford might be using them, doing his “multi-tasking” gimmick.

Not far from there, a homeless man saw Geinny dragging the body to Fluke’s pick-up. Fluke notices the man and hollers out, scaring the poor bum into running towards the woods. He got snared in a hidden self-made bear-trap-pulley traps and dangles one legged above the ground. He saw two boys wearing fool masks (one jester, the other a clown), and got his neck stabbed open by one of them with his javelin.

As evening falls, the family hears a weather forecast announcing a storm approaching. Worried about Ford, who hadn’t come in yet, Mila went out to look for him; Pickette decided to accompany her, since it’s unsafe within the woods due to reports of animal attacks, but the family asked him to stay and cook dinner and let Raymond accompany her instead.

When the two got out, the Reaper clan readies themselves. As Raymond and Mila stumbled upon the body of the homeless man, they also saw Ford’s horribly mutilated body. Mila panics, drawing James, Merry and Geinny out of hiding and attacks them; Raymond was immediately killed by James, chopping off the butler’s arm before landing the pointed butt of his axe at the man’s head. Mila nearly made it, until Merry suddenly appeared behind a tree and stabs the maid from the back of her neck with a pitchfork, thus failing to warn the family.

As the rain finally came, Augusta and Pickette began to worry about the others’ absences. Nannie also felt concerned and was about to help the servants look but got halted by the sound of their car’s horn blaring. As the family went out to find a stick, purposely placed on the horn, a pick-up truck suddenly appeared and directly rams to them, missing all, but one, member. Arthur was killed when he suddenly tripped on the muddy dirt, getting himself crushed between the attacker’s vehicle and his own family’s car. Shocked by the lost of their youngest child, Charles Midvale reached for his hunting rifle and threatens to kill the driver unless he steps out; the driver did stepped out (Fluke, wearing a bandana over his mouth and sunglasses on his eyes), but Gus suddenly attacked the father with his crowbar. While Charles struggles with Gus, Fluke reaches for his own riffle and starts shooting at the family, who retreats back inside the mansion. Charles manages to pulls off Gus’ skull mask, revealing his deformed face, angering the giant. Giving out a loud roar, the giant bit down at the man’s neck and starts eating its flesh before using his crowbar to pull off a portion of his face.

Locking themselves in, the Midvale family began calling for help; unknown to them, Gus is using his crowbar to pulls out the fuse box, thus killing all of the power. The family got together, with Marie sympathizing for Nannie’s sudden loses; Bill tells Pickette and Augusta to look for anything that can be used to defend themselves, but the maid explained to them that there were some tools from the garden shack missing, stating that the attackers might get hold of them. There was a sudden noise from the kitchen; Pickette went in, clenching a porcelain figure (a man raising a sword. Pickette is hold it like a knife) and checks, only to find nothing but a few dishes tumbles down. When the cook tells them it was nothing, Robbie (wearing a clown mask) stabs his heel with an arrow, causing him to tumble down. The attack drove the family out of the house, leaving Augusta to help Pickette. Geinny and Ben went inside casually, apparently amused to what they’re seeing; Robbie’s brother, Johnnie also appears and surrounds them. Seeing it hopeless to be helped, Pickette plead Augusta to save herself, which the maid reluctantly did but fails as Ben grabs her and injects a syringe full of air into her temple, sending the air into her brain, killing her. Pickette struggles to get away, but John pinned his wounded heel on the floor with his javelin, letting Geinny torture him freely with stabs until Ben came back, dragging the dead maid, killing the cook by slicing his neck open with his scalpel.

Bill, now in the forest with his family, notices that Annie wasn’t with them. Marie pleads to her husband to go back to fetch her, but she was stopped when Bill notices one of the killers approaching. Hiding behind a large rock, he saw who the killer was. Merry took off her mask, fixing it and notices something on the woods. Thinking it could be Bill, she threatens him to expose his secrets that put his family into danger before leaving the scene. Bewildered, Marie asks her husband what it was, stating that the killer actually knows his name, but the patriarch refuses, until Marie raises her voice out of anger. Bill hears another footstep; he pulled down his wife and reaches for his gun, thinking it could be one of the killers. As the footsteps become closer, Bill goes for the shot, only he ended up shooting (but not killing) Nannie. Marie was about to help her, but Belle got to her first, violently stabbing the woman with a Prussian bayonet through the bottom of her head. This sends Marie running with her son, leaving Bill to defend himself. While the two were running, Yuki, afar from them, aims her shotgun at the boy and fires, killing him instantly. The terrified mother was mortified by the death, and got herself killed as well when Merry appears and shoves a handsaw into the woman’s neck.

Gunshots filled the cold night, as the rain dissipates; Bill was running back into the house, hoping to shelter himself from the killers until help comes. It cuts to Belle, lying on the ground and apparently waking up, wounded, as someone approaches her. She took off her mask and smiles. Bill secures the mansion, making sure no one was in it and the doors are locked. Inside, he saw two remaining survivors, Melvina and her boyfriend George. Melvina claimed to have heard one of the killers talk, overhearing that they were after Bill; upon knowing this, she demanded her uncle what did he do, and who were these people? Bill stubbornly tells them that he doesn’t, which the two didn’t believed. George became frantic about the situation and yells at Bill. At the midst of the shout-backs, Bill finally admitted what he did after George threatens to kill him; hearing this, the two was mortified of the situation and was about to throw his out until a lone bullet through the window and kills Melvina. Shocked, George ran to his girlfriend’s body, allowing Bill to escape. George was now confronted by James, who got in by throwing Marie’s body. The masked killer viciously clawed a rake at George’s face before repeatedly blowing a large machete at him.

Outside, Bill was finally confronted by Merry. Bill tells her that if she wants to kill him, just kill him already, but he also pointed out that it’s gonna bring her nothing and at the end of it all, she still loses since the police will be at her tail. But someone pulls out a gun at him, saying that “this never happened”. Merry was shocked to see the assailant; it was Bill’s own Daughter Annie Bays! As it turned out, Bill have been doing his scam for ages way before Merry was hired, and she hated her father for it. She had been ridiculed of having a father that was a criminal and get away with it. The idea of being a daughter of a criminal got stuck in her mind, now thinking that she, too, is born a criminal. Now, she had it with her father’s scam and decided to “join in” with the killers. Annie threatens her own father to lie down, but Bill refuses and attacks her own daughter, strangling her til’ she choke, but stopped moments after when Ben arrives and injects him a syringe full of depressants.

Morning the other day, Bill found himself at the lake’s beach, bound in barbed wire with a long electric cord sticking from the inside of his belly. Marvin was behind him, putting a few devices together along with what appear to be a light bulb full of explosives. He tried screaming, but Marvin stuffs a rag by the time he started, and apparently angering him, Marvin torments the bound man by slightly pulling the cord attached presumably on one of his organs. He sees the deranged family tossing bodies into their pick-up; some, specially the twins, were actually riding and playing with them. James and Ben walks to Bill, explaining to him that the cord sticking out from his belly is attached to his intestines, and it will be pulled away from him as he helplessly stays there. Bill nervously looks at the other cord, apparently coming from behind him; James noticed this and he just told the man that “it was as surprise.”

The family finally drove off, with Annie Bays and Merry sleeping together, and Wilbert Harrison’s “Let’s Work Together” blaring loudly from the radio. Indeed, Bill saw his own intestines pulls away gruesomely until he heard a blood curdling snap from his own organ, as well as the device behind him. The device explodes and Bill was engulfed on fire.

The story ends with a montage of the same song as before, with the family apparently heading home on an isolated road. John and Rob cover the bodies and laughs. James was happily seated with his wife, as Fluke enjoys the sun. Belle wakes up, and asks why did James let Annie live. James simply answered “she got talent”, ending the story with a close-up shot of their two new members: Merry Angel F. and Annie Bays Midvale.

well, the next hunting ground story will take place on a private building somewhere in the mountains. The main scenario is that it's winter and there's a storm coming, cutting off many powers. The party animals soon discovers that they're targeted by the Reaper clan, now including your merry, Annie Bays and two new members.
