Azreth had tried so hard. So very very hard. And the damn horse still hadn't come around.

He loved everyone. Azreth had ever seen him react badly to anyone before. Except himself. The stallion stood in the stable yard under the tree as Azreth held his lead rope, surrounded by tall, delicious green grass. Kaname, however, didn't want any of it. Not one bite. He held his head up the whole time and turned his head away from Azreth, ears pinned and a careful eye on the boy.

Azreth was determined, however, and would not let this lack of progess deter him. He actually liked Kaname. A lot. The stallion needed a rider and he wanted to be it.

"No matter how long it takes or what I have to do for you to like me, I will get you to." he sighed, reaching out to touch the stallion on the shoulder with his free hand. Kaname pinned his ears back even farther and lunged away from him, ripping the lead out of his hand. Realizing he was free, Kaname trotted back to the other barn entrance (the closest door was closed) and walked himself right back into his stall.

Azreth sighed. "This might take a while."
