Description Lamp settings in order from left to right.
One lamp.
Three lamps. Left is main light (strongest), right one is filler one (quite weak, only to put some blacked out areas visible) and behind one to... Hm... I dunno. It's just a "standard studio" set up.
Environment only. If one or two lamps (non physical ones - mesh with emission node, but those simulated, lamp like point lamp etc) added with big size (for blurred and smooth shadows) it could give really natural result of outdoor without strong sunlight (which always gives strong, sharp shadows if it hits the surfaces directly).  Mila seems to be confused by that.
Too many lamps. Even in setting of emission 1 it gave way too bright render and nearly no shadows.   And made Mila have a headache.

Obviously one lamp setup is fastest. Too many lamps is right behind it (if all are just copies of one). Three lamps setup can vary (depending on how it's set), but mostly faster than Environment setup.

Sorry for nothing really serious.

Yeah I agree that Environment can bring some odd results, mostly because it depends heavily on the quality of the HDRI, and sadly most free HDRI suck .

It's definitely a fun quick visual tutorial about lighting though, thanks man!
