   One week after the war between Eggman forces and the Resistance. Sonic walks in a ruined city :

     —   « What a heartbreaking show, thinks the hedgehog. My friends and I have still a lot of work, before our Dear Mobius recover her beauty ».

The entire city has the same landscape: destroyed buildings, corpse on the floor…

   Some streets further. Infinite is on the top of a ruined building, whose the roof doesn’t exist anymore. The jackal is sittings on the floor, his knees bent. He holds his head in his hands. Something, many things suffer him. Infinite whispers :

     —   « How this blue savior, this child and their friends could they win ? They would have lost. The friendship is just an illusion! We are better alone! ».

   On his chest, the Phantom Ruby is grey. His energy has been drained. It is one of the things which torture the fallen mercenary. However, his pain is deeper. Indeed, behind this constant rejection of friendship, a great loneliness is hides. It had appeared five years ago, during a battle against the Void.   Since that day the fallen leader has sworn himself no longer to be friend with anybody. Feeling the air lack him, the jackal removes his mask. Tears appear, and flow on his cheeks. Usually, Infinite erases those gems of feelings; for him, they represent the weakness: thing he dislikes. Yet, he leaves his tears flow. Devastated by this pain, he broke into sobs:



    —   « Goodness, why I think about this Naïla? he says, his breath slash. I don’t know her. And yet, I have to admit, I felt serene in her presence. Why is it hurt me so much ? »

    While the former Eggman’s partner show his pain, the blue hedgehog still to inspect each sectors of the city. The more Sonic progress in the town, the more his head down, tired to see this misery everywhere. Suddenly, he hears someone cry. Worried, the blue savior looks everywhere around him. He see nobody. Sonic raises his head to the sky. In the top of a four-stages building, he notice a cower silhouette on itself:

    —   « Ah, you are there. smile Sonic. Don’t worry, you will not cry in a few minutes ».

   The blue tornado runs on the building’s ruins. In a fraction of second, the supersonic hedgehog is on the top of the building. He comes towards the person in pain. Arrived to her level, Sonic opens big eyes of surprise. Infinite, his enemy is before him. The jackal seems to be more vulnerable than usual. With an hesitant voice, Sonic asks:

    —   Infinite, what’s wrong ?

    —   You! exclaim Infinite, angried. What are you doing here?

    —   Well, I walked in this town. Then, I have heard someone cry. It appears that was you. answer the hedgehog. That is why I am here, next to you.

    —   Go away. says the heterochrome, while moving. I have nothing to tell you.

   Nobody says anything. Determined to know what Infinite feels, Sonic walks toward the canid, stop and rest plant in front of him:

    —   You know, I won’t release the case too easily. I know very well you are not fine. Normally, you are haughty and you are mocking me. Now, you are folded on yourself.

    —   I tell you to leave me alone! gets stressed Infinite. Your friends and you, you have won the war. How much more do you need!

   In pronouncing those words, the jackal’s voice is break. Alone, he was alone. And it torture him a bit every day. Ashamed, Infinite enclose himself more. The blue tornado look at him, crosses his arms, and shakes his head from right to left (Infinite is simply very alone. thinks Sonic. I knew that behind his mask, he hid a great sadness, and loneliness. I know, I will ask it…). Then, the blue savior stretch his right hand toward the jackal, and says :

    —   Would you like to be my friend?

    —   Why do you ask me it? surprise Infinite. After all that I’ve caused you and your friends, you want to become my friend?

    —   It is true that we have suffered a lot because of you. Answer Sonic, will downward his hand. But you have suffered too. All this time, the loneliness did hurt you. This is the reason why I would like to become your friend. In front of me, I see another person. Actually, you are not Infinite, and I am addressing the « actual » you. Not Infinite. Come on, take my hand. We will able to try again on better terms. Finally, I hope (Sonic smile).

   Luvio, because that’s Infinite real name, hesitate before the helping hand of the blue tornado. A Naïla’s picture is superpose on Sonic. With a friendly voice, the wolf says: « Welcome you here». The heterochrome still amaze. After few seconds of non-reaction, the jackal takes the hand of Sonic. The hedgehog is happy:

    —   Welcome, dear fellow. says Sonic. By the way, what is your real name? I don’t call you Infinite…

    —   My name is Luvio.

    —   Luvio ? What a beautiful name. Splendid, just like your face.

    —   What? drops Luvio, yelling.

    —   Haha, I’m kidding. drop the hedgehog, holding himself. Don’t worry, there were no in love implicit behind it. Anyway, your odd-eyes are beautiful. By the way, let’s go. I’m going to present you to my friends.

    —   But, they will not understand my presence on your sides. emit the jackal.

    —   Never mind, I will explain them my decision.

    —   If you say it…

   The canid prepares to take his mask, and put it on his face. Sonic stop him, and does the sign « no » with his right forefinger:

    —   « You have to abandon your Infinite identity, if you want to be my friend. confide Sonic. »

   Luvio acquiesces. He reposes his mask. With his tradition excited, Sonic ask to the jackal if he is ready to go. The heterochrome says “yes” with his head. The blue savior makes a winked to his new friend. Then, the two friends run toward a new horizon.
