Honest? I don't like this drawing much.I like his design, but the drawing itself sucks. ANyways, my thought process:
Robin's costume is super dorky. (As all proper Superhero costumes, save like, 3, are!) But his was something I don't think any teen would go 'yeah! This is cool! I'll fight crime... in dorky underwear on the outside, 'R' on my chest' green red and yellow spandex suit. Yes! The girls will SO dig me!'
Yeah... So I wanted to de-dorkify him a bit. Not too much, mind you.
Also, I wanted to have a 'teen' Robin that looked like a teenager. Oh, and I wanted a mask that actualy somewhat made people go 'who is that kid behind that mask' and not 'Oh look! It's Dick Grayson!'

ooh that is way cool I'm digging the new outfit. I agree with you on the aspect of Robin's outfit. It seems like something a super-ballerina would wear. I can tolerate the one he wears in teen titans a LITTLE bit more but not much This one is way better.
