I love your lighting, and the expression on Fiyero's face- wistful but still maintaining his "swankified" facade. I just saw the musical a few weeks ago when I was in NY and fell in love, and have been obsessing over the soundtrack ever since. Someone should form a club lol.

I love the noticeable height difference. It's kinda sad that he totaly ditched Galinda for Elphy.

How is this level of awkward even HUMANLY POSSIBLE?!
Beautiful picture. I love the expression on Galinda's (or is it Glinda's, now?) face. She looks so confused and out of sorts.

It's great. It looks like a scene from Romeo and Juliet, if you can imagine Galinda(or Glinda, whenever it's set) as the friar. I'm looking again, and Fieyero looks a little bit, just a little bit, like DiCaprio in Romeo+Juliet...

(psst! Wicke actually lost to Avenue Q for best musical! heh.)
Fantastic piece, by the way.
Elphaba's gettin' all flirty, and Glinda is just standing there going, "Oh crap! Heehee!"
Faaantastic.

I like it a lot! I like how I instantly knew it was a train station, and I could instantly figure out what was going on. Great job.

I want to see that show SO badly. I've listened to the CD, found a bootleg online, and have the book, and have read through the broadway show Grimmery thingy, and yet my need is still there.
I'm glad you like this piece, as I do too. It was fun to draw.

The lighting and Elphaba and Fiyero (is that who it is? Or is it Bok?) is awesome. I love how Galinda is sort of shoved out of the scene, but doesn't really realize she's being pushed away.

Thanks! But I haven't seen it either. I just got the CD because I love the main actresses and Stephen Schwartz's work: the music is breathtaking.
You really should listen to it.
I get fangirlish over musicals I haven't seen alot, though. Still haven't seen Jekyll and Hyde, though I LOVE that music and have drawn stuff from it in the past.

This is from the broadway musical "Wicked."
It got many a Tony for its sets, best actress, and costumes. Unfortunately, it lost out to 'The Producers' for best musical, but it turly has some beautiful music. Get the CD. It's well worth it.

Hillnerd In reply to Kleokattra [2006-01-24 20:39:42 +0000 UTC]
Here's the official summary:
Long before Dorothy dropped in, two other girls meet in the Land of Oz. One, born with emerald-green skin, is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. How these two unlikely friends end up as the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch makes for the most spellbinding new musical in years.
----------------------
It basically explores the nature of wickedness, and has the premise that ELphada (the Wicked Witch) wasn't really evil, it was just a cover up by the Wizard, who as you know was really just an ordinary fellow, after she refused to help him cage animals and keep them from talking.

I haven't seen it either, actually. I just LOVE the music, am reading the book, have the sheet music, and love all the actors in it. (I do this alot, though, become a fan of some musical I've never actually seen on stage. It's on my list.) I was a fan of Les Mis for 6 years before finally getting to see it. (I've actually seen it 4 times now.) Same with Phantom of the Opera (only I've only seen that one 2 or 3 times.) Yes, a musical buff I am.
