Description this is my first deviation, and my first 3D-wallpaper. was just making some test-pics with glas-effects and then had this idea.

hi...
well @LordReaver:
yes, maybe. i think it's a matter of taste. i usually prefer bright scenes, but i also like scenes with a gradient-light. so i made it a gradient, i like it beacause it has a nice effect on the "diamonds" and kinda highlights them. in a totally bright scene they would not be very "eyecatching"... but, yes, some people prefer when it's completely bright. i do sometimes, too. thanks for your comment.

ah, used software: 3dsm6 with MR.
usually i want to learn using Blender, 'cause it also runs under linux (which is my favorite and mostly used OS [at least because of university]), but for me 3dsm is easier to use. the handling of Blender is not difficult, but i have to get used to it first. let'ssay, for now, 3dsm is a little easier than Blender for me, although i am a newbie to both

hey the result isn't bad ... those caustic effects look kinda realistic ... maybe setting the light to a higher falloff so the whole scene gets brighter would help a bit ...
