Description
In Drawfest 3, I learned not only about technical process, but also improving workflow, using references and more. ( I'll try to keep this short..)I'm a big fan of thriller/ action themed movie and games (Like James Bond Series, John Wick, Mission Impossible, etc.). So, for inspiration I turned to one of my favorite movie which is "Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation" and there's this one character that makes me in awe whose name is "Solomon Lane."
Very cunning character, dangerous, serious. First, I tried to analyze what makes "Lane" have that kind of "feeling" especially it's visuals and movements. It turned out to me that even he is the antagonist, he speaks softly, calmly, not happy but not sad, and.. dresses neatly, he also wears glasses- (Like joseph seed from far cry 5) and I tried to incorporate them into my character.
The clothes, which is partially inspired from other sources like Yelan from Genshin Impact (Love those fur-ish coat), and eccentric looks.
For the lighting, I was confused at first what to do but it struck me when rewatching John Wick. They create this ... mood that uses hot color and cold color light (Green- Red, Turquoise red). "It's very cinematic" I thought, and it's a go for the lighting.
The background just goes with the flow and I tried to visualize a bar, where the side light (reddish light) comes from the frosted glass on the windows.
I'm not used to paint backlight (Usually I uses like renaissance lighting or such studio lighting) It's very hard for me. But the light separation when first making a painting (after adding local value), it makes everything simpler and I got through it... For Guweiz, many thanks for sharing, it is very helpfulπβ¨
