Description
I'm almost ready to starts posting the parts to something I've been working on for almost a year now, and because of its topics, I decided to get something straight: the matter of regents.
This being DKC, I took the approach to using preexisting characters. While all three of these people shown here are canon to the series in some way (although gijinka'd here), their situations have just been altered to fit the story. I'll explain, although their stories are further elaborated upon later on:
Bluebeard: Bluebeard is the same one from the episode of the show concerning the "Curse of Kongo Bongo", where Bluebeard died a thousand years prior and every hundred years he sends a cursed poem to the inhabitants of the island that, when read aloud twice, will result in the island sinking. In this canon, he was the youngest of three brothers given the name Breaker (thusly, 'Bluebeard' was an alias) and a seafarer who became a regent due to his brother's death and his nephew being only twelve at the time. His nephew becomes ruler mere days before Bluebeard's death at sea.
Grouchy: Great Aunt Grouchy appears merely as a plot device in the show in the same episode as Bluebeard, and it is her books that provide the solution to Bluebeard's curse. In this canon, she was the eldest of seven children, of which only the youngest thirteen years her junior was the only boy. Their father passes away due to sickness before a resolution comes to a decision so Grouchy, pictured here at the time this event occurs, takes the reign. Because of his age at the time, her regency lasts the longest. Much like her true canon self, she collects mystical and magical data and records them for when someone requires it and is responsible for her favorite nephew getting his hands on their ancestors' texts.
Asari: You've already met Asari before, knowing his origins and the circumstance under which he achieved regency, so I will not bore you with them here. However, I do have a fun fact for you: Asari, in his last years, would regret his choice because while he always maintains he did what he had thought was best, he also felt it didn't help his relationship with his father any.
