Yei was impatient. Her hunts always had a sense of urgency to them, and the saddle on her back was visibly agitating. Noting this, Novalie did the compromise of removing both saddle and bridle for this rite. The unencumbered Tokota, visibly pleased, took off in lunging bound off into the brush. A spray of snow hit just at Novalie's feet as she followed. A white flash to the side showed an arctic fox, and Novlie expected to see her big partner go shooting after. But...no. Glancing around she found her. Jaws wide, Yei tore through the slate of snow after a little spirit. It took probably at least a minute before the poor soul lost Yei in the brush and the big female was able to redirect onto her true task. The fox, stunned by the chase of the rabbit, still hung in the brush with watchful eyes. With a bit of quiet sniffing around, finally Yei was able to make that first successful kill of this hunt. Their time could have been much better for an initial start, but nothing like this could ever be perfect.
