Utricularia subulata is a common terrestrial bladderwort, known to spread quickly through carnivorous plant collections via the mass production of powdery seed. It has bright yellow flowers that appear to float above the soil surface. It is also capable of cleistogamy, where seed is produced by self-fertile flowers that never open.
