Description
This artwork represents how fragile these unique apex predators are in the hands of our species who, in the last few centuries, underwent a global industrialisation that pushed back many subspecies of tigers to their cliff of extinction. As a result of hunting, illegal logging, and deforestation, these massive urbanisation are replacing the ever decreasing population of tigers and many other animals. Over the last century, tiger numbers have fallen by about 95% and they now survive in 40% less of the area they occupied just a decade ago, according to the World Wildlife Fund. Clearly, loads of work and effort are needed to protect these animals if we are to secure their future in the wild, or else all there is to know about them are stories from some fairy tale books and paintings like this one."It was the best of times, but we have to part here forever and I shall not look on your beautiful world again."
