FAQs:
1. What kind of paper does this use?
90lbs/185g
Letter or A4 size. Scale to printable area (don't try to print them at original image size, because they won't match).
2. Where is the previous V3 package?
Superseded by the V3A31 package, which improves on it in every way. Together with the accessories package, it include a large number of previous and updated parts.
3. What do the version numbers mean?
V1 & V2: Old versions, both handmade. The receivers, barrels, and magazines are unique and incompatible with anything else. Some accessories like sights can be interchanged with other versions. Handguards are also cross-compatible, because versions 1 through 3 use barrels with the same thick diameter. However, the design quality of versions 1 and 2 is very poor, so I don't recommend building them.
V3A2: Handmade V3 lower receiver that only accepts V2 (undersized) magazines.
V3: Current version, digitalized and generally better build quality, although with some notable weaknesses, such as the barrel and stock. If a receiver is labeled V3A3, that means it takes V3 magazines. However, there are some slight differences in V3 magazines, so some may fit better than others. V3 magwell has a retaining bar at the back that holds the magazine in place.
V3A416: Hk416 that uses V3 receiver measurements and magazine system. As the two-tone build shows, the receivers are cross-compatible. The main difference is the way the stock attaches (rear ring, buffer tube, and stock) and the way the barrel attaches (it goes into the upper receiver). The upper receiver also fits together better, but, being an Hk416 upper, it is taller only matches the Hk416 handguard. Overall, this is a much stronger model, but retains the unrealistic V3 magazine system.
V3A31: Same magwell and receiver dimensions, but improved buffer tube and barrel, and more realistic minor details. In short, it's an application of the lessons learned from the V3A416 model back to the standard M4 carbine configuration.
V4: Hypothetical next version, with realistic proportions and mag release. Although some of the current parts can be considered "V4" parts, I have barely started actually making a V4 receiver. The stock and barrel will attach similarly to the V3A416. There is no estimated release date.

I'd say start with the lower, then grip and stock. Then upper, barrel, handguard, and finally everything else (sights, magazine, etc)

hey just wanna ask the lower receiver page two , the inner hook go to where ?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Hoborginc In reply to Akisuki94 [2012-07-15 14:19:48 +0000 UTC]
It goes on the inside of the Magwell Rear Panel. Once that panel is in place, look for a horizontal marked area on the inside. That's where the inner hook goes.
The purpose of the inner hook is to keep the magazine from falling out. The magazine has a little protrusion at the back, which holds onto the inner hook.

Sorry for the question , but I see in the files , that exist the M-16 version , but I have some doubt about the assembly , can you post the M-16 version?

Hoborginc In reply to uimol3 [2012-06-19 11:52:33 +0000 UTC]
Just use the 20" barrel, M16 stock, and two RIS handguards (individually they are carbine-length (6"), but two of them form a rifle-length handguard similar to the M16A4). Otherwise the details are up to you.
There is currently no A1 or A2 M16 handguard.

Just successfully downloaded the files, using Firefox and DownThemAll plugin; prior attempts using IE were unsuccessful, so heeding the advise of thorst on PaperModelers.com forum provided success!
Awesome model!!
Thank you so very much for designing this model and making it available...can't wait to build it!!
Cheers!

Hello Hoborginc
Days ago, found the Internet, a file which had the grenade launcher for this rifle, but now can not find it. Could you give me the link or where I can find.
Best regards
Albert

To my knowledge there is no manual, and says the designer, there is a picture within each file. However, I leave a link where you will see photographs of the steps in the construction, I hope that something will help.
If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask.

There are notes included .txt files. Also all the little pieces have titles, indicating their function and general location.
Additionally, there are some construction images of half-built stuff, to show where the more confusing elements go.
But I'd be happy to answer any questions regarding the building process.

I finished the assembly of the M4, this past weekend. I disafrutado much with the assembly, but moreso, seeing it finished. There are some that another small touch, but with a little skill, everything has a solution.
I would appreciate the author, any more paramontar model, if it could be in any format other than pdo.
Here is the link so they can finish the model.

Thank you very much by observation, I had not noticed. Tomorrow I fix it, because as goes with magnets, the change in position and ready. I'm looking forward to your new model. The problem I find with pdo files, is that no assembly instructions. Anyone know if the ride?

Excellent. It's always nice to see people build it.
I do intend to make another model (m1911), and it won't be in PDO.
As a side note, the Aimpoint scope is backwards. This is the way it should be.

The sendspace link should work (the button in bottom center that says "click here to start download from sendspace" is the real one).
However, some people don't want to use it, so I can email you individual files.

Hello, Dude this gun was fantastic! Detailed in every corner! and the most amazing is that many of the pieces were made and repaired by hand, just execelente.
I downloaded it today around the afternoon, and so Megazine finished it, but I was with a piece of doubt, Feed Lip, where should it fit? And when the work is complete, fully steady? because as she noticed the figure above is fully removable.
Please, if you can answer me, I am totally grateful.
Happy New Year! and Happy Holidays!.
(Sorry for the comment above is totally confused, because I'm Brazilian.)

Hoborginc In reply to bigmacbig [2011-12-27 03:42:21 +0000 UTC]
The feed lips go at the top, on each side, as seen in the picture located in that folder. The rectangular part should align with a rectangle on the magazine, and the angled part of the feed lip should protrude upwards, folding in on itself so it's colored on both sides.
When it's complete, the magazine will be held in place in the magwell by a little piece called the inner hook. It stays in pretty firmly, but can be taken out if you pull hard enough.

Thanks man, I got so far and surely was pretty cool.
With respect, I could paste pieces of cardboard inside parts? because this would give pieces a more resistant structure.

sorry for the repeat postings. Do you have any specific building instructions? Or even a simple set of instructions? I saw the txt files but I don't know if I'll be able to just look at your pics and fit everything together. Thank you so much :]
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Hoborginc In reply to adriee [2011-12-26 15:25:51 +0000 UTC]
Considering that it's essentially made up of little boxes, all you have to do is build each little piece individually, and then refer to the picture to see how they fit together. They also have names describing where they go. Otherwise, some items have construction pics, so it's not that hard to figure out.
As far as time goes, prepare for a lengthy project. Think however long it would take you to do 27 pages. My sense of build time is rather skewed, since for me the planning and mockup phases make everything a lot slower. However, since it's modular, you can split the project up and take it a step at a time. Lower+grip first, then upper+barrel, handguard+sights, stock+mag, or something like that.
