Description
Like a small boatOn the ocean
Sending big waves
Dan had his hands covering your closed eyes as he was about to present a surprise to you. He said "wala" before uncovering your eyes, letting you open them to see a small brown boat bobbing next to the dock. You gasped in shock and turned around to see Dan smiling at you. "Do you like it?" he asked kind of nervously, hoping that you would. "I love it!" you squealed, leaping into Dan's arms and giving him a big hug before running to the boat. Just before you were about to clamber on Dan quickly grabbed your wrist and yanked you back onto the dock. "What?" you asked, confused that he didn't let you on. "The boat isn't tied to the dock," he replied, pointing to where the boat should've been tied up to the dock. You nodded in understanding. You slowly creeped your way into the boat, Dan following close behind. You settled on the bench opposite him, your back to the water, while Dan took up the 2 oars and began rowing you away. After awhile you were out a good distance from the dock and were now in the middle of the ocean. You looked on in awe as you saw bigger boats past you and the fishes that would swim under and around your boat. Dan laughed at your kidish ways as you dipped your hand into the water, letting the water and the fishes slip through. You gave a smile at Dan and he smiled back, you two enjoying your quiet rowing trip.
Into motion
Like how a single word
Can make a heart open
I might only have one match
But I can make an explosion
"We might have to set back now, the sun's starting to go down," Dan said, making you frown, you didn't want to go home yet, you two were having such a nice time just chatting and rowing around in the water. Dan saw your frown and gave you an understanding smile, putting down the rows before leaning in a little to give you a kiss on the cheek. "I promise we'll come back," he said, making you smile before he took the rows once more. He starting paddling away, you looking at the sun starting to go down as you traveled.
And all those things I didn't say
You and Dan were still riding in the boat, it was taking longer then expected since Dan was tired from rowing all day. You offered to take it up but he had declined. A big ship went by and it caused a little wave to come towards you. "Don't try to move, hold onto the bench," Dan said frantically, causing you a bit of alarm as you gripped the bench as tight as you could. But, sure enough, the wave hit you violently, causing the boat to flip over and send you and Dan crashing into the sea below. You tried desperately to swim back up, but to no avail. This wasn't like a video game where usually the game helped your character back up with a boost, this was real life, and you were left floundering under the sea, Dan nowhere to be seen. You closed you eyes, tears coming even though you were already in water, and you pleaded for someone to come and get you, for you to survive, until you felt arms grab you by the waist, pulling you up. Your head broke through the surface and you gasped for breath, your eyes opening after a moment and blinking furiously as salt water started singing your eyes. You stayed for a few seconds just floating, breathing, and blinking. You were glad you had broken through the surface, now being able to gasp for air, and your eyes started tearing up, washing the salt out of your eyes. You turned your eyes to see Dan floating next to you, a worried expression on his face as he watched you. You swam over to him and he wrapped his arms protectively around you, you two just floating in the water together. Those few moments in the water were one of the most terrifying experiences of your life.
Wrecking balls inside my brain
I will scream them loud tonight
You two didn't know what to do now. Your boat had floated away and you had no idea in which direction or how far it had gone. You two looked at each terrified and began shouting as loud as you could, hoping some boat would hear you. But, after what seemed like an hour, no boats had passed. You gazed back at Dan hopelessly, and he gazed at you sadly, the most sadness you had ever seen on his face before, which only made you panic more inside.
Can you hear my voice this time
This is my fight song
Take back my life song
Prove I'm alright song
My power's turned on
I'll be strong
I'll play my fight song
"I'll.....start swimming back......you get on my back," Dan said after a few moments, dipping down, waiting for you to get onto his back. "No, you'll probably die if you try swimming back!" you shouted, swimming back at bit. "Well I don't want anything to happen to you!" Dan shouted back at you, making you cower in fear at how furious he sounded. He realized how harsh he sounded and swam slowly back to you, taking you into his arms again and whispering in his ear that he was sorry, but he was more worried about you then himself. When he let go you gave him a weak smile, and he gave you a weak smile back. Then, to lighten up the mood, you playfully splashed him a little in the face. He gave you a wild look before splashing fiercely into your face, a wave of water splashing over you. You clenched your face on impact, and wiped the water from your eyes while Dan laughed. You two then got into a splashing war, both you splashing the other as hard as you could. After a few minutes you heard a loud horn go off, and saw a huge stop next to Dan with people waving at the two of you. You waved back as they lowered a ladder for you to climb on and you gratefully started climbing, Dan following close behind, until the two of you had made it on board, you taking Dan's hand to help him the last few steps and you faced the men waiting for you, still holding each other's hands. "Did you two try and take a swim out here?" one of the men said, making you two chuckle before shaking your heads, wishing that was your story even though it obviously wasn't, your story was more terrifying."No, our boat tipped over when a big boat sent a little wave crashing into us and we were stranded for at least an hour," Dan replied, telling the two of what had happened to you and your boyfriend. "Well were you fighting?" he asked, you assumed he meant all the splashing and shook your head again. "No, I was trying to keep him preoccupied," you said. "Well my name's Captain Kurtis, and, if you want, I could take you two back to the dock," you both gratefully said yes and said thank you before he left. You turned back around to Dan right as the boat started up again, and he wrapped his arms around you waist, pulling you into a hug, you wrapping your arms around his shoulders and laying your head on his chest.
And I don't really care if nobody else believes
'Cause I've still got a lot of fight left in me
When you got back to the dock you said thank you one more time before giving him a hug. He gave you a hearty chuckle before giving Dan a huge hug, lifting him into the air while Dan struggled to breathe, making you laugh as hard as you could. You waved to the Captain and some of his crew before they boarded, and you walked back to your car just as the moon finally rested in the sky.
