You sighed as you stood at the cash register, waiting for some new customer to pay way too much money on clothes for you to check them out. You didn’t really like this job as it was boring, but you were only 21 and this was a good starter job for you before you could find something more sustainable. Finally after what seemed like hours a young, tan British guy walked up to you, holding out some very peculiar and black clothing. It seems he really likes the color black, you thought. “Hello,” you say casually. “Hi, my name’s Dan, what’s yours?” He asks suddenly as you start scanning his clothes. You give him a strange look but reply with, “(Y/N).” “What a lovely name for a lovely girl,” he replies, making you blush. This guy was very kind right off the back. “Ok that will 51.36,” you say as he pulls out his credit card. You scan it and let him do all of the things on the card scanner while you place his clothes into a white-and-pink logo bag of your companies. “Have a nice sir,” you finish, handing him his bag, but before he leaves he pulls out a post-it note and a pen from his bag. “Not sir, Dan. Call me later,” he says mischievously, handing you the post-it note with his number on it and walks away. You stare at him curiously before down at the note, making you blush an even darker shade of red. When you got home you saw your roommate and best friend (F/N) and her boyfriend making out on the couch. You look at them a little disgusted before heading to your bedroom. You shut the door so you wouldn’t have to hear them and took out the post-it note from your purse. You flopped on your bed and looked at it confused. On it was his phone number written in good handwriting, and you liked guys who could write well. He also wrote really small. You had the sudden urge to kiss it, you didn’t know why but your body wanted to, out of thanks. So you did. You pecked it lightly, but then felt really embarrassed afterward. Why were you acting this way over a post-note and a hot guy? You had never really felt this way before. Sure you dated plenty of people in high school but this time it felt…..real. You could hear your friend and her boyfriend still making out which made you shudder. You wanted to be Dan, anywhere, even at his house for all you cared. The thought gave you butterflies in your stomach and made your cheeks blush. There was just something about Dan that seemed…...right. You decided to call him and waited nervously for him to pick up. “Hello?” he asked, making your heart sore that he actually did pick up when you called him, just like he said he would do. “Hi Dan it’s me (Y/N),” you say kind of shyly. “Oh hey (Y/N), glad you could call,” he replied happily, a trace of laughter in his voice which you detected in this call. “Yeah glad I could too Dan,” you say, your heart slowing down a little bit. “I wanna ask you something. Will you go out to dinner with me?” Dan asked suddenly, making you inwardly shocked but sort of pleased at the same time. “Where are we going?” You ask excitedly, though you tried not to give it away in your voice but your were failing miserably. “Leave that to me just tell where you live.” You exchanged addresses and he said he would pick you up at 5 that very night. You looked at the clock: 4:00 PM. Your heart sped up when you realized you had little time to get ready. “Can’t wait to see you again (Y/N),” Dan said kind of enticingly. “Yeah me too seeya later mate!” You ended quickly, wanting to have as much time as possible. You quickly took a shower and put on your best dress before you heard a honk outside. You walked to the doorway where you saw Dan in a formal but casual look. He smiled when he saw you. “You look beautiful,” he says, making you blush as he leads you to a taxi and you head off for the mysterious restaurant, which you hoped was somewhere that would be casual. He took you a casual but nice looking restaurant and the two of you ordered your meals. Not long after you too were having a great time, you both had so many things in common it was unbelievable. And you found yourself really falling for Dan. Towards the end all your mind was thinking please kiss me, but you knew he wouldn’t. Not on a first date. You too got up and headed outside. You waited for him to hail a cab but instead he held you by the waist and pulled you closer. You instinctively wrapped your arms around his neck and he put his other arm around your waist so that you were only a couple inches from his face. He smiled and you smiled kind of nervously back. He leaned in and kissed you softly. You were happily surprised and returned the kiss, making sure it wasn’t that hard but you felt sparks flying and it was a long kiss, letting you know he liked you just as much as you liked him. He let go and the two of you instead walked holding hands back to his flat where you met his roommate and best friend Phil. Phil was so kind and sweet and funny, and he was so happy that you two decided to become girlfriend/boyfriend. When Phil left to go to bed and you decided you needed to go home he kissed you softly again before saying, “You will never ever be alone again.”
