I like the is piece, I thank the brushstrokes and the limited pale on your wife skin is a go idea.
And the drapery gave me the felling of Vermeer's Girl Asleep at a Table, that one of my favorite.

wow im speachless i love this peice i dunno what to say its like something u see in the art history books or at a museum (cant spell) its wonderfull all the detail u put in to it n i can just see the effort put into it man i wish i had the patients and skill to paint as well as you do! i admire u!! btw what kinda of paint is used there?

the setting is so subtle and beautiful.
did you work from a photo you had taken perhaps?
or a combination of photos?
that's the feeling i get.
regardless,...i really like the elements you've gathered.
i like the way the blanket/tablecloth(?) sinks into the shadows.
and how the subject seems to 'escape' from them with hands clasped.
some gesture of hope?
the violin is such a beautiful instrument to begin with. i can't think of an
instrument that isn't really.
(ok. perhaps the bass drum? heh.)
she stares ahead into the light,...while the dark, seemingless empty frame
stares down at her.

i know,...i'm reading too much into this. it's a fallacy of mine.

it's a beautiful piece of art.
