Emma woke up the next day with a massive hangover, threw up in the bathroom, brushed her teeth, went down for the greasiest breakfast she could keep down and then checked out from the hotel to get to the airport for her flight.

In the departure lounge she checked her phone. Three texts from Sam Peckinpah, her trainer and manager back in London. "Call me." "Emma call me urgently." "F****** CALL ME EMMA!" It was odd, iEmma mused, n all the time she'd known Sam she couldn't previously remember him swearing.

She tried to call Sam before getting on her connecting flight but he didn't pick up, probably too early in the UK? Anyway, she'd have another chance while she was waiting for her transatlantic flight at JFK departure lounge.

When she finally did manage to speak to Sam at JFK, he wasn't too happy.

"Hi Sam, I tried ..."

"WHAT THE ACTUAL F*** EMMA! TAKE THAT F******* PHOTO DOWN!"

"Oh? The one from yesterday? It was just a bit of ..." (Here: www.deviantart.com/home-of-gem… ).

"I DON'T CARE! Delete it. Everywhere. RIGHT NOW! If the British board of control see you've been doing unlicensed fights while you are suspended you can forget ever being licensed again. Do you understand!?!"

Hungover, tired, for once Emma's voice was low and quiet "Yes Sam...."

"You're a really clever girl Emma, but doing this was so stupid. Just erase everything. Right now!"

"Sam ... I had to. I only really feel alive when I fight ..." she stammered, trying to explain.

But Sam cut her off, obviously still furious "Why the f** didn't you tell me about this stupid crazy plan of yours? Emma I was going to try to get the board to shorten your suspension once everything cooled down but now ... that's off the table ... for a long time. We can't talk any longer. You have to delete everything about it. RIGHT NOW! We can talk about this properly when you are back in the gym on Monday." and with that he cut her off.

As Emma deleted her posts on all her various socials sitting alone in the departure lounge, through her still thumping headache and dry rasping throat, the front lobes of her brain throbbed red with the injustice of it all. What happened with Sofia Durani hadn't been her fault (here: www.deviantart.com/home-of-gem… ). As far she was concerned, her fight with Paige Walker was something private they'd both agreed to as consenting adults, nobody elses' business. Emma had done nothing wrong in her own eyes.

She thought Sam was different. In fact he was just the same as those other controlling bastards.

Trying to tell her what to do.
