It was about five AM and even at this time of year the mist still wallowed at the foot of the rolling Surrey Hills that Emma Meyer's parents house stood atop.

Emma was visiting her parents for the weekend but still started each morning with a twelve mile run before breakfast for her cardio.

Emma grimaced. Breakfast would be tense pregnant with the possibility of another flaming row.

Her parents still hadn't accepted her decision to give her up her position with one of London's leading law firms to train to become a professional MMA fighter.

She could see her parents point of view.

One didn't pack one's daughter off to an very expensive private girls boarding school nearly twenty years ago only to see her fight sweatily in a cage ringed with chicken wire for a living.

However, as Emma wryly smiled to herself, the merciless gladiatorial atmosphere of an all girls boarding school was in many ways excellent mental and physical preparation for the cage.

But Emma was determined and armed with a tidy inheritance from a recently deceased great aunt.

She would not give up on her dream.

Emma's left foot struck the deserted country road particularly hard as she began the steep incline up to the hill where her parents house loomed gloomily and her lungs started to roar as she broke into a final sprint.
