LAN, man of justice.when Lan agreed to join Epiphany's risky endeavor to infliterate the evil army of dark ninja, they all knew this seemingly impossible mission might actually be something they can bet their hopes on.
it has been many years since LAN attempted to apply the rules of civilized society in this world. a little step at a time, those who without the blades, and sharpened shuriken found themselves protected around the continent of 9 tortoises.
another collaborative effort between and myself, from year 2004.
some of you may have already seen this piece on IMAGINE artbook.
i believe both myself and juji have discovered new plateu recently and we managed to upgrade our character design styles, artistically, and technically. now that we have reached new level, it seems easier to share some of our old ones.

love this guy, Lan, but one critique: the floor in perspective looks weird with his right sandel, mainly i think is the shadow.
:3 his tattoo reminds me of one of Jo Chen's work, but still beautifully original!

As per usual, great job HOON.
The tattoo's design is amazing, and it doesn't look pasted on as usual. But to me, it looks a little too light, reminding me of the tights you can purchase that have tattoos on them. I couldn't do any better, but I'm just pointing it out.
Another thing I notice as I further examine your art is that his hair and the accents on his sword are being blown by a strong wind, or so it seems, but his clothes don't show this.
I know I'm really in no position to critique your art, but maybe it will help?

awesome. but whats up with the huge tredded sandal? you know who would look great in this style....Akuma from Street Fighter. The whole body structure reminds me of that CAPCOM stuff. love it.

Nice job on this, but the way you set up the 'floor' and the perspective of his foot makes my eye jitter XD Otherwise I really like the folds in the clothing and the tattoo was an effective touch.

wow, thats awesome. The tattoo, pattern on the robe, and symbol on the floor look friggan spiffy. I think those are really what set the picture on a whole new level

What not to compliment on this..! The pose is outstanding, the face and expression is excellent... the shading is awesome and I must say I'm REALLY impressed with the tatoos... it's hard to do tatoos without making them look pasted on, but those are really believeable. This is just all around awesome. ^_^

argh HOON...the colo is wonderful....the best part is the tatoo (that's hot !!) . I still appreciate the way you make simple and complex art at the same time: a lot of details and some simple pieces as well...that's really efficient.. !! (the ground is nice too, with the same pattern than the kimono !!

I just can wow about the concept, drawing and colour. And he is good Character concept... though we don't see much of his face. Love all the bright blueish stuff he's wearing. (and I'm glad there are no boobs in here
