this is fairly new piece which im quite happy with.a design of my future studio.
already some of the mess people got leased, and planing on moving in.
we also call this place SANCTUARY.
tomorrow when i wake up, im gonna crack open my piggy bank, and start building this little dreamy working space.
part of ninja talkshow: ashcan concept.
completely done freehand on PSCS. no vanishing points, grids, nor line tools to guide and visualize imaginary depth of field. hoping this picture will eventually get painted, and detailed oneday..

Wow this is really cool. I don't get to see that many people do background concepts. I'm and animation student, and backgrounds are really important. Did you use Ado.. Ill... CS.. to clean it up. Because these lines are very clean.
What I really like is an actuall size person will have a different view of their soroundings by by standing in different locations of the house. The mountain side for inspiration and the tree side for a quiet afternoon. I love it.
I have a few background concepts if you would like to see them. They are under "my island paradice", "my livingroom", and "graveyard"

good idea about different locations giving different inspirations.
and i agree about the settings being very important. but not just for animation. for any story telling mechanism.
this design was completely done on adobe photoshop cs, from the top to bottom.
