I personally think that the shading looks a bit odd, it gets too fast too dark in my opinion, i played a bit with it and came up with this: [link]
and something bothers me about the animation, it is really smooth but it doesn't look realistic to me. Wouldn't the hand/arm go up again when the ball hits it? I came up with this: [link]
but i really like the idea of it and i have to say that i am tempted to create one myself now 
oh and i found it amusing that you added your name on the emote and i don't mean the visible name

Love the shading on the big emote. However, i think you could use some more dithering on the light circle at the top as it looks a little too obvious
