Description
I was at the station when I saw a familiar face leaning against a pillar near the boarding area. "It's been a while since I've seen Thea." As I approached, I noticed something different about her. When she noticed my approach, she gave a somewhat subdued smile and then, with a sign of embarrassment, looked down.We hung out, drank, kissed, worked, studied together. We were close until one day she moved away, which is natural. What didn't feel natural to me was her silhouette. As far as I remember, she was flesh and blood.
We greeted each other, hugged, looked into each other's eyes. The question was about to jump out of my mouth when: "I know, I'm already going to explain how I became a robotic unit." Now with a more spontaneous and signature smile.
"I didn't know you were also predictive after being robotized," I quipped.
"Your charm never changes. I'm moving to Egmontron, too much of a coincidence bumping into each other here."
"Egmontron? I'm beginning to understand..." Succinctly, the gynoid explained to me that she had visited the place for a health monitoring implant, something common, which was practically free there. With this implant, she is considered welcome to return to the city, in cyborg status. What she didn't understand was how much she liked that place. I've never been there myself, I'm curious.
"One day something transformed me, not materially, of course. I felt the call of that place. I kept piling up procedures until I finally decided to become a robot. I don't know, I think the city embraced me and I returned the favor."
Before I could investigate further, in a Bolt, Thea said goodbye and boarded a carriage, with now her peers, heading to the city of androids. I'll miss you, Thea.
