Herr Hildezart is hidden,because somebody told him: "You get grey and you are spotted at the moment".
So he is to shy to come out. He is afraid that his fans do not like him any more with his grey fur....

I think his fur turns grey into summer and white in winter. In nature it is very useful for a good camouflage. In winter he is invisible in snow and in summer he looks a little like the ground so his natural enemies have bad changes to find him
