Yeah, sometimes it is really hard. But surprisingly I do not have those feelings with kitten because I know that they always find a great new home in a very short time. My heart beats for the handicapped or problematic ones who wait very long for a good home. People only see the cuddly lovely babyface and that keeps them from watching those gorgeous cats with a great and THANKFUL character who are not that "sweet" anymore

I know what you mean, some years ago we adopted an old cat (12) she got ill a short time later and the veterinarian told us that her formal owner has kicked her in the belly a lot, so her inside was all broken and not good. We let her operate with the risk that she probably would die, but she made it. She lived for another 4 years and in these years we've got all the love from her that she had. I'm still glad we had her
