In Germany they were very expensive, too but as mentioned IΒ΄ve seen a lot of persian in the cat-organisation I work for...

yeah I've looked at places like the ASPCA, and haven't found any. I think because they are so expensive people that buy them are a lot less likely to abandon them and leave them homeless, which is good, but then people like me can't have one

Hmm: Most persians here came to us while their owner die or have to move away.. It is not everyday that we got persians but we rehome 10-12 in a year. So maybe you could ask the people who work there and they could inform you?
