Again, cultural mistakes are all around I know. I actually messaged the50-person to ask for help on the Chinese family clothes, but as I draw basically general lines, I tried to give some similar tones to the Tao family's drawings by Hiroyuki Takei.

Unlike my last compilation of sketches, This time I did have some references. Fujiwara no Michinaga for instance I actually tried to have some resemblance with the historical counterpart, as for the Tao brothers I'll mention it later.

One thing I've been wanting to do for a long time is to try and find appropriate befetting writings of the Taos characters. Hopefully I managed to do so! My Japanese knowledge is small but my Chinese is null so although I tried going to name lists and translators, I apologize for inaccurancies!

Characters up and left to right:
Fujiwara no Michinaga 藤原道长 - (I thought he required his whole name written) I tried to reminiscence him to actual images of historical figure.

Tao Long 道龍 - The character means 'Dragon'. He is the patriarc of an assassin family so I wanted to try give him a sense of power and danger in a way. Well, tried. I had so much struggle with the Tao family clothes ugh sorry

Tao Li 道力 - The character means 'Strength'. Well, he is Ren's ancestor that looks exactly like him, so there was little variation I could do here.

Tao Jin 道金 - The character means 'Gold'. I remembered him as a beautiful looking young man, so I tried going after older Ren's looks by Hiroyuki Takei.

Fujiwara no Akiko 彰子 - The kanji are the historical ones so nothing on my part here. I don't know if that hairstyle was only used in official cerimonies (like weddings) but if so, I guess I can use it as an excuse considering much of the story is caused because of her marriage. I wanted to give a distinct feeling over her sister Murasaki.

Yuki-chan 雪ちゃん - The kanji means 'Snow' and I thought adding the -chan would be appropriate. I went to read a bit on him I didn't remember him too well. I hope he's not bad.

Goro 五郎 - The kanji seems to be actual writing and I didn't want to digress. I didn't remember his image too much either so I tried. I wanted to give him a nice look specially in comparision with the actual now-canon sensei Hao had as a kid that we've found in Mappa Douji II (that Hamo Tadatomo you f*cker, step away from emotionally unstable young boys! Man as if Hao hadn't suffered enough already at what, 6?8?)

I wanted to draw Yoh but I ran out of space.
