The cracked pans of the Tsaucheb Valley reflect the unbelievably intense orange glow caused by the last sunlight shining in below a summer rain storm.
While shooting this sunset I was on all fours because my body was all that I could use to shelter my camera from the rain. After about 90 minutes of shooting in the rain, the pan I had comfortably walked onto turned into a muddy playground that made walking a very slippery challenge. I've never seen such bright colours in my life...it was like seeing the world through a blood-red filter. The water reached Sossus the next day.
