Description

Pansybee and Icestep’s very first grandkits are up for audition! They come with a ton of plot opportunity given their background and family history: they are half-kittypet orphans, left in the care of their maternal grandmother after their father, Hornetspark, died trying to flee WindClan with them. Their grandfather, Icestep, has been exiled twice — once for blinding a warrior named Sassafrasshade in an act of revenge, and the second time for siding with the rebel WindClan. Their aunt, Glaciermelt, was courting the original rebel leader Sootstar. Their adoptive uncle, Morningfang, ran away during the rebellion due to feeling unwanted for his halfClan heritage. Their adoptive sister, Ashenglow, is a purebred Scottish fold kittypet that was brought to the Clans when she was young — in summary these kits have heavy kittypet heritage despite their family’s connection to the WindClan rebellion!

❤ Their Story:
Moons of tension within Hornetspark’s family drove the tom to flee WindClan, taking his kits with him. No one knows what his plan was — unfortunately, he never made it out to tell the tale. A hungry fox ambushed Hornetspark and his kits at the edge of WindClan’s territory, and though he fought like a warrior of LionClan to protect his kits, he unfortunately suffered fatal wounds. He and his kits were found by the dawn patrol, but it was too late to save his life… his kits were brought back to WindClan’s camp, shaken and disturbed by the sight of their father’s death. After such a brutal loss, it was decided that the kits would be better off in the paws of their family despite Hornetspark’s former wish of keeping them away.

❤ What Happens Now:
While in the nursery, the kits will be placed under the care of the Perma-Caretaker Pansybee, their maternal grandmother. Though she will raise them, Pansybee is not adopting them as her own — they will know that she is their grandmother, and even if they are able to forget their father over time, they will know how they came to be orphans in WindClan. Their mother is a kittypet, whose identity is unknown to Pansybee, thus they will know nothing of her.

❤ - Now, on to the info for the kits themselves! - ❤

The kits were born December 22nd, 2023, and rank up to apprentices March 22nd, 2024!
The kits in this tryout do not have a set name, design, or gender — those who audition will have 100% creative freedom in creating a kit! You are welcome to reference Pansybee and Icestep if you desire, but we ask that you do not reference Hornetspark’s identical twin, Beeshine, as the design does not belong to me and is only allowed in FoW under the stipulation that Beeshine alone may use it. Their mother does not have a set design, hence why literally anything goes <3
That being said, I am offering free custom designs of these kits to those who wish to try out! You will also receive free kit-art (sketched by @/necroiights, lined and colored by @/hovnds) for your character based on which one you choose for your audition (if trying out for kit 1, you will receive the art on the left ; if trying out for kit 2, you will receive the art on the right). I am happy to make line edits to the art as needed as well as color the art in for you! <3
These auditions arose very suddenly, thus the rules and try-out form are very short and to-the-point; please feel free to expand upon any ideas you have! We really just want them to go to active players who will appreciate and cherish them <3

These kits are to be used in Forest of Whispers only — if you are not a current member, you are welcome to audition as long as you join the group with your kit.
You are expected to interact with the family! While you can of course plot outside of family members, please don’t have your kit hate their family or try to disown them. These are the first grandkits of Pansybee x Icestep, and thus they will be heavily doted on. Ashenglow in particular has a very strong connection to the kits, so please keep that in mind. While tension and fights are a part of life, these kits are expected to be very attached to their family after losing their father and not knowing who their mother is.
Activity-wise, we would prefer to see at least one RP/daily per month, however this is not a set rule ; just please try to use the kit, and don’t let them sit on the shelf and collect dust! At the very least please try to toss around ideas / head-cannons when you’re unable to dedicate time to RPs.
If you no longer wish to play the character, they will be returned to Crisadence and hovnds. If utilizing the free custom, the design of the character will return to hovnds. If using your own design, you will of course be permitted to keep your design and the kit will be redesigned upon your exit <3
