"The wrong place and the wrong time typically spells wrong for the individual. Lauren had a tough time post-breakup and found Halloween difficult. He was wearing the same costume he was supposed to wear as a couple's costume with his ex. Trying to forget her, Lauren went to the local pub to get a drink, sadly drinking lager after lager in a sea of costumed people. He hated that he wore the costume she wanted him to, and Lauren hated it even more that he was alone.

Drunk, depressed, and tired, Lauren left the pub, emerging on the street full of other costumed adults. Stumbling, he took a wrong turn down the wrong lane, entering him into a very old neighborhood. Leaning against a gate, Lauren drunkenly urinated on the fence before hearing a shout and a powerful, bright purple light hitting the face.

Lauren awoke later suspended in the air, dawning a new body. His lame costume from before was a black corset with matching black thigh highs and long black gloves. A woman sat across from him, smiling.

“I see that you are awake,” she spoke. “Seeing how you’re in quite a precarious situation, I figured I’d give some meaning to your sad, pathetic life and allow you to be my witch apprentice. I need some help around here, and you need to avoid jail time for your past behavior. Of course, that does mean you’ll be without a few male perks, but with me, you’ll get the hand of not just the magic but the feminine perks that accompany your new life. And to think, all it took was going down the wrong lane.”"
