Ray still didn’t understand why he had to send his professor a picture of himself dressed up before showing up to the ambassador meeting. When he signed up to be one of Blue Mountain State College’s greeters for incoming Freshmen, he didn’t know it would require him to be dressed as a girl. According to Professor Kindley, the tradition of having all-female ambassadors for the first-day program for incoming freshmen begins with the school's inception, and the practice has carried on.

Ray wanted to quit, but seeing how this ambassador program fulfilled a complex elective requirement, he didn’t want to drop it. It was dressing up as a girl or take one of the most challenging classes with a pass rate of twenty percent. So, if having to dress up as a girl meant he didn’t have to deal with the headache of that class, he’d gladly wear the dress.

“You look beautiful, darling,” Professor Kindley commented. “And I’m sure the incoming freshmen will feel welcomed by you and your warm greetings.” The comment made Ray blush a bit as he imagined all the compliments he’d get from the freshmen. And, as he eyed himself in the mirror, he did look outstanding in that floral dress. Maybe this wasn’t a bad idea.
