Back in 2016, when the Chicago Cubs were playing the Cleveland Indians in the World Series, Dale and Tony watched intently. Dale was a Cub’s fan and Tony, an Indian’s fan. When the series came down to game seven, the friends made a wager that the loser had to wear the winner’s gear. Shaking on it, Tony was in shock when the Cubs beat the 108-year drought and won the series.

Dale said nothing about the wager in the coming days, and Tony didn’t bring it up. Months passed without mention, as the friends continued to hang out. Halloween came around the next year, and without a call, Dale knocked on Tony’s door, holding a bag. Perplexed at his friend’s action and the bag, Tony asked what the contents were. Smiling, Dale pulled out a kid’s Chicago Cub’s jersey, a blue lace bra, and a pair of blue cotton knickers.

“I’m not wearing that!” Tony dismissed, turning away from his friend and on the costume proposal.

“A deal is a deal, you coward!” Dale shot back. “Unless you’d like me to tell the buddies that you weren’t man enough to finish a bet.”

Tony’s face turned red. Dale wouldn’t dare question his masculinity! Seizing the bag, he stomped off to the bathroom to put on the lingerie and comically undersized jersey.

“I’ll finish his stupid dare!” Tony thought, walking out of the bathroom. “So what? Dale will be the only one to see me like this.”
