Description
My girlfriend and i recently saw the '20 Years of Pixar' exhibition at the ACMI building in Melbourne, and i was so impressed by the design maquette for the Anglerfish from 'Finding Nemo' that i just couldn't get it out of my head! I took a little from what i remember of the maquette (mostly the jaws) and the rest came from a few images from National Geographic e-zines.Couple of things i would like to change - like, not sure if you notice or not, but i neglected to draw a little arm fin for the guy! (not sure of the technical term for those...) Also, i would love to try another one perhaps in colour, and with a darker background so i could highlight his little head-lure.
All in all, i'm fairly happy with this piece. It's pretty big, and kept me occupied while my GF went away for two days. Yay for time consuming cross hatching!
Pen & ink.
