He IS lost, in a way. I'd like to think of him as "inbetween worlds". He has some learning to do before he can be a functioning person again.
Don't pity him too much though. He is in this way because of his own action, in a way. Remember ,he did try to kill Esmeralda, twice! Would you let a would be killer close to you in a snap?

Really? Well, don't call it failing, call it "ice-boxed" for now. It's in the fridge, for you never know when the Muse heats up again. It honestly is the main reason I have so many drawings on hand at the same time ;If I get fed up with one project, or I run unto a wall( more likely with my hard head), I can continue with something else!
Naah, that particular sash dies an unfortunate death in molten copper..
But one has to think: With a full arsenal of colourful shawls at hand, why does Esmeralda choose one with THAT color?

Actually, it kinda surprised me too at first, because he seems fairly thin, but stop freeze some of his motions in "Hellfire" for instance. He IS built. So I'm just going with what the animators have given me to work with

He's in a place where he is completely out of his element. Normally, he'd get by pushing people away and establishing himself as the "man in charge"; here, he is completely dependent on those who were kind to him, something he is not used to. He feels scared and inexperienced, two things he has not felt in a long time, much like his feelings for Emseralda.
