Well, he did get run through with a HUGE sword. I have come to the conclusion he was weakened and Cloud fighting back caught him off guard. Either way, I think he probably anticiated coming back so he didn't care.
But I definitely agree, it seems quite outlandish

It's more the whole seesaw deal with masamune. Cloud is impaled, but managed to grip the sword and lift Sephiroth up using it.
Seph wasn't impaled. He was holding the sword. Therefore he was holding himself off the ground. Why didn't he let go like any smart person would have? xD

I meant when Cloud first stabs him with the buster sword. And yeah, it is outlandish how Cloud managed to get the upperhand. Oh well, FF7 is full of impossible but totally awesome things

how the heck can Sephiroth take a stab from that sword and live oh my gosh i just cringe and the thought of that going through me. I know Seph is all biologically enhanced and shit but jesus christ. A Buster Sword to back is sheer death for a normal person. *shivers* brrr.
