That doesn't mean that religion was true, or right. You have to understand that with two of those people, the society around them did not allow for anything other than being religious
Newton and Galileo's societies were both highly religious - the concept of a God not existing was one that didn't really come into anything. There were no atheists.
So these people were religious and still founded scientific facts and processes even against religious persecution. I'm not saying that religion has not hindered science but that there is a religion that Darwin has created and its persicuting free thought in the intellectual and scientific thought for centuries now just like the roman catholic church of Galileo's time.
Luckily now the Church does not control the lives of the majority.
We have broken free of the shackles of wide-spread religious control.

I only hope that eventually, Humanity will evolve enough to realize it does not need religon at all.
The utter lack of religion is what scares me, its Darwinism that is directly linked to Hitler's holocaust just like the roman catholic church was linked to the inquisition.
Lack of Religion does not lead to things like the Holocaust - the greatest horrors of the modern world have been laid directly at the feet of religion
Countless massacres and genocides a thousand times greater than the Holocaust were religiously motivated
I'm saying that the belief that life was an accident, that there is no ruling power has lead to de-valuing of human life. Its when man decides for whatever reason that their beliefs are the absolute and all others must be killed is when genocide happens. Hitler killed in the name of eugenics that the Nordics was the master race and the elimination of the weaker races would quicken the evolutionary process. Gays, christians, jews, were all killed.
I'm not saying that people haven't killed in their religious beliefs, but that ignoring or excluding thought that there isn't religious beliefs is dangerous. That evolution is dangerous because it isn't viewed as a theory or a belief, but those who are its most zealus followers agree that Hitler did the right thing.
In killing the poor, sick, helpless, the inferior. And they did so in a country by teaching the youth of their nation that Evolution is a scientific process. They censored out all other beliefs till all that was left was evolution and eugenics.
Hm. I'm not sure Eugenics isn't a bad idea.
Well Mirel-Yirrin you'll be happy to know its alive and well in the united states, abortions are readily availible for those who wont get fixed and are too poor and stupid not to.
I agree entirely with Abortion, right up to the point where the child becomes developed enough to be a sentient creature.
But conversely, I would never wish to stop women aborting children, no matter what the stage.

I'm saying that darwinism is the bases for euginics, that it excludes all other moral truths, that it in its self is the religion that there is no god. It censors out all other possiblities just like the killing that islam started again in 2001 that you speak of.
Darwinism is a naive idea that was never supposed to be a political influence - it was just a scientific theory.
But its grown to that porportion and is trying to exclude all other world views/beliefs in todays society.
