Update 2013: I finished making this at the end of last, week just never got around to posting up the update. Anyway this artwork is one of my most successful artworks I have ever made, but I have been wanting to redo this one for sometime now. I have redone everything, which meant because he is much larger in size, I had to make new line art and everything. I have updated the colors, little detail here and there and most noticeable is the hair, which I redid from scratch. I felt it needed to look more like the classic SSJ hairstyle, we all know very well. The old hair which I still like, has one thing though I felt was not right, and that was the arrangement of the bangs and the fact that he was missing one of them. Now I feel this image is now complete and I hope people like the update to him.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So if you are wondering why he does not have his scouter and tail, it's because I made Bardock further in the future, if he had not died. Comparing it to Vegeta, when he went super saiyan for the first time he did not have his scouter and his tail. Bardock would be a stronger fighter, he could now reach the leave of a super saiyan, so there would be no need for the scouter. That’s my reason anyway.
I went with a new pose that I have not seen before, but used the classic Bardock facial expression because it's awesome and totally a Bardock look.
The hair is a little different to Goku's SSJ hair because the base form is a little different too. All hair styles like Goku's are different and if you look at them all you will see what I'm talking about. Even Goten's SSJ hair is different to Goku's hairstyle.
Over all he was hard to make, the armor is a combo of Vegeta's early armor and his modern armor. Also the red arm sleeves were very difficult to make and took a lot of playing around with.
Know for Bardock Father Of Goku TV Special. His headband was original Toma white armband, his hand was covered in blood and while he was holding it, it soaked in red blood.

Sad thing is he wouldn't even beat Frieza's first form. Bardock had a power level of 10k. Going SSJ increases your power 50 times over, putting him at 500k or well maybe 600k or 650k since he survived Frieza's supernova. Frieza in his first form is 530k so even if Bardock was winning, Frieza would need only go into his second form of around 1Million and SSJ Bardock would be history. With Bardocks known power, hed likely need SSJ3 or 4 to survive or win against Frieza.

That's very well said. Goku was a much better well trained fighter so I thing when people think of Bardock going SSJ that be would be able to defeat Frieza in the super saiyan form.

Yep, hed more or less be even with the first form and be killed by Frieza's second. People need to remember going into the SSJ forms just multiplies your CURRENT power level.

Budokai and Budokai Tenkaichi had a lot of What If stuff. I'm surprised this didn't pop up sooner.

I'm not sure why they stooped doing it for sometime. Raging Blast 1 and 2 did have Broly and Vegeta as super saiyan 3s though, but that's about it.

I got a chance to look on youtube and I saw Bardock turn SSJ.I look to see if some one made a art work of him just to find your all I can say is the best one I found so far.
