“There is nothing more depressing than rainfall…” Raven sighed as he walked through the pouring rain, he had only just arrived in Happy Tree Town, he has lost his friends because of the way he got here, but he knows they are out there… somewhere, unfortunately he does not know if they will be alive or not when he finds them. In the mean time, he still needs to find somewhere to live, somewhere to get out of the downpour. It will probably be hard to find a job he- “Huh?”Raven sees a large building, a hotel maybe? Whatever it is, there is a help-wanted sign, that’s good enough. He walks inside to find whoever is hiring, it looks like there are two people working there, a wolf with black eyes and white irises and a… cat? Maybe a fox? Whatever she is, it has one blue eye and one green eye, and she looks a bit eccentric, not to the point of being dangerous, but definitely to the point of being interesting. “Uh, hello? I’m looking for a job and a place to stay?
The fox’s eyes widen an she smiles and shouts excitedly “Your hired!”
The wolf made a sound of shock before saying “Sara!” he then whispered to her, not knowing Raven could hear him still “we can't just hire him on the spot...we don't even know his name!”
Sara then replied nonchalantly, “So? I didn't know your name when I met you Sol, and look! We're great friends... Besides” she looked back at Raven thoughtfully “he seems like he's a good guy...”
Sol then sighed, “Fine...but I still think that-“
Sara interrupted and handed Raven some keys, “alright, so you'll be working with a few of our other workers. Most of them are part time, but I think you'll all get along great! For the first day though, I'll let you work with Nutelie. She’s a red flying squirrel with a blue shirt,. She's been here for a good time, so she should be able to answer any questions you have. Also don't go into the basement!” Raven looked at the keys a bit confused, “Uh… okay?”
Raven went to find Nutelie, also wondering about what was in the basement, after walking around the Manor for a while, he eventually ran into her, literally, accidentally knocking something out of her hand. ”Sorry miss-” he looked at her and stared a bit at the bright red squirrel , she had a light blue short-sleeved T-shirt and dark blue jeans, but that was not what Raven focused on, what drew his attention was her eyes, her beautiful eyes that almost seemed to glow with an inner light, they practically hypnotized him, then again, perhaps it was her over-all beau-
“It’s fine.” she said with a smile, interrupting his train of thought. “I haven’t seen you before, are you new in town?”
Raven was silent for a few seconds before clearing his throat and speaking nervously, “Y-yeah, you could say that, uh, are you Nutelie?”
The red squirrel smiled again and helped Raven up, “Yep, why do you ask?”
“I’m new here, Sara said I would work with ya for my first day.”
“Oh, alright, well, in that case come with me.”
The first month of Raven’s work at the manor passed quickly and uneventfully, for the most part, but over the time he started to feel closer to Nutelie on an emotional level, she was always so kind and caring towards others, including him, and her smile always made his day. It was coming to the winter months and snow was starting to come down, Sara gave Raven and Nutelie a day off, though why she did not say, she was always random and Raven could not totally figure out her thought pattern, nor thought it would be a good idea to try. Speaking of things that aren’t a good idea to try…
Raven was walking in the snow and accidentally tripped, instead of falling to the ground he sort of caught himself on a frozen metal pole with his tongue. “Oh perfect” he thought, thankfully he saw Nutelie walking by. “Ha Nuthele halp!” he shouted, the pole making it hard to talk.
She giggled a bit and went to help him “Oh Raven.” She then used her heat vision to heat the pole enough for Raven to fall off it. Raven rubbed his head and stood up “I’d… rather not say how I got stuck” They laughed a bit and started walking together.
“So, Nutelie do you have any plans for Christmas?”
“Well, I am probably going to spend it with my brother, what are you going to do?”
“Well, I was thinking of spending Christmas at the Manor.”
“Really?”
Raven nodded, “Yeah, I don’t really have anywhere else to go for Christmas, my friends and family… don’t live around here” He has not told anyone that he is not from this dimension, mostly because it was a silly notion and he would have been thrown in an insane asylum if he said he was, unless it was to Sara. “Oh, by the way I got you a present.” Raven reached into his pocket and pulled out a diamond necklace with Nutelie’s name engraved in it.
Nutelie blushed a deep enough red for it to show through her fur “W-wow, it’s… beautiful.”
“Would you like me to put it on you?” Raven asked, Nutelie nodded then Raven proceeded to put the necklace around her neck, he then noticed that they were standing under a piece of miseltoe. “Huh, would you look at that.” When he looked back of Nutelie he was given a surprise kiss before Nutelie flew off from shyness. Raven thought for a moment then smiled and looked at the sky. “There is nothing happier than snowfall.”
