Description

The most memorable moments in your life tend to be during times of high stress, where you're working past midnight with your best friends to get something done so you can compete the next day. This has been the case for middle school Science Olympiads, several of my high school aero research projects, and of course the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) robotics competition. FTC has been my life in high school, and although I'm sad for it to go (as I'm in college now), being part of the team has made friendships that'll likely last my entire life (cheesy, yes).

On a slightly less pensive note, I was the "jankmaster" of the team, as I fixed up the main designer's copious amounts of mistakes with the jankiest solutions possible (using dollar tree foamboard as structural components on an otherwise all-aluminum robot for example). Don't forget about hot glue and masking tape!

The robot in the drawing was for the 2022-23 competition Freight Frenzy, which I would say was the second best robot we made. The best would be our freshman year, with Rover Ruckus, primarily because I built the whole damn robot that year lol. You can also see part of our team name in the background; we were 10696 "Syosset Syborgs." You can search it up or whatever, dunno if anything will show up, but it'll be super cool to have other teams from FTC to stop by!
