Sheryle and I started the CBS adaptation of Sheryle's favorite Stephen King book, The Stand (my favorite is the Eye of The Dragon if you're wondering), and oh my goodness it was AWESOME! We just finished it last night and oh my goodness, it was PERFECT.The second to last episode in particular is so emotional, but very well done.
The Stand honestly feels like a series about the world in which we live in a way. The world is being taken over by a demonic antichrist eho looks like he's triumphant. He talks about "freedom" and then endlaves people in lust and degenerate passions. The people who serve God don't seem like they have any power, they're mocked and hated by the freedom loving, sin loving, antichrist. But what can good men do in dark times? Sometimes they can speak out, and sometimes they can fight, but sometimes all that they can do is take their stand. And that's what makes this show awesome! It's truly an inspiring and entertaining show with a wonderful Christian message, and some surprisingly mature Christian themes.
Ten out of ten, highly recommend, do not miss it!!! And while you're at it, read the book too.
