Feliz the Spiny Rat
“Feliz” means “happy” in Spanish
Nickname: ‘Liz (the Z is pronounced like an ‘s’, so it’s sounds like ‘lease’)

--- (Personality) ---
Personality: As her name suggests, Feliz is a joyful and excitable woman with an impressive level of optimism. Feliz plans things as she goes and she can prove to be extremely convincing when trying to drag her friends into another adventure. This makes her extremely reckless, however.
Feliz sees it as her duty to always be brave and protect her friends in times of needs, even in the smallest situations. This can cause her to overstep some boundaries.
While her heart is always in the right place, she sometimes can act without thinking and cause things to get much worse.
Occupation: Feliz likes to work manual jobs such as dishwasher, janitor and cleaning services. She tends to switch around as she travels a lot.

The Relampaga suit:
The prototype of an electricity wielding weapon and its protective gear. The suit comprises insulating clothing, skate-type EX gears of the speed category and a sword-looking electricity canon. Because it is still a prototype, the cannon or gears sometimes malfunction by shutting down mid use. Feliz is also not entirely confident in using the canon and prefers to use it as an actual sword. When she does resort to using the cannon, she shoots it in long, swooping movements as she is incapable of aiming it. The cannon is powered by specially developed rechargeable batteries. She owns 4: 1 is always charged in the sword, 1 is always kept in her pocket as a spare, and the 2 last ones are kept at their charging spot.
Both the lighting shot from the cannon and the trails left by her EX skates are blue.

Clothes: ‘Liz likes fashion and is comfortable in all sorts of clothing and styles, though she prefers skirts.
Favourite foods: ‘Liz prefers sugary, carbonated drinks, but, surprisingly, has a level of appreciation for complex, traditional home-cooked meals.

Bio: Feliz was raised in a jovial, closely-knitted family alongside her younger brother. She is a huge fan of Sonic the Hedgehog, and he inspires her to one day travel the world and help people in need.
At some point, she picks up a job at a technological laboratory as a janitor. She becomes close friends with the engineer who is developing an electrokinetic suit. So close, in fact, that she gets to learn about the development and even test the first prototype. An accident happens during the first test and the designer of the suit disappears in the process, leaving for only clue a symbol which only appears in the leaked, corrupted files of a journalist in Ice Paradise… The journey begins.

Humble Doe:
Feliz likes to see Doe as some sort of boring older sister who needs to be taught how to enjoy life. She loves to drag her into things and distract her from her work, which can cause the two to bicker at times. However, ‘Liz considers Doe the de facto leader of the group to a certain degree and respects her decisions… sometimes.
Puck the Lynx:
Feliz sees herself as a mother figure for Puck. However, since the lynx more or less already attributes this title to Doe, it can cause some arguments about how the lynx should be cared for. In the end, Feliz is like an overly enthusiastic older sister who will do everything in her power to land the younger one in trouble, but who would fight tooth and claw to protect her.
Residence: Varies, currently roommates with Doe and Puck in Ice Paradise

Spiny rats are an actual species of rats found in Peru which have pointed fur similar to a hedgehog’s quills. Spiny rats can also technically break off their tails, but I hope Feliz’ll never have to do that, lol.
The reason I chose this species for Feliz while redesigning was because I wanted to be able to keep certain components of her original hedgehog design and because I also had given her a Spanish name.
She is slightly smaller than Wave the Swallow.
