with the G5 show being only a month away at this point, it only makes sense for us to be seeing brand new screenshots from one, or a bunch of episodes, letting us know what we're in for. and let me tell ya: when it comes to the animation..... i give up on hope. aside from the lighting and the adorable design for the new unicorn pony, i don't see any improvements here. it looks exactly the same like the special. so i'm really not looking forward to see them in motion, 'cause based on what we saw in the special, i know it's not gonna look good. i know it's not gonna look as great as the movie. i know that, and i'm not saying i want it to be like that. this is a Netflix show with a fraction of the budget. it was never meant to look like the movie, and i'm fine with that. but at the same time, these animators should've AT LEAST tried to make it look better than the special, NOT THE EXACT SAME!
as for when it comes to the story and the writing..... i have no idea. it could either be something great enough to make up for the terrible animation, or it could crash and burn. who knows? like i said, we still got a month left, and we also need to see a trailer to get a good idea. but judging how i don't see any improvements in the visuals, it's making me doubt if the writing is gonna be any good. i hope i'm wrong - i really, REALLY do - and i'm praying for this show to actually surprise me, but my hopes are painfully low right now.
