Background:

Ryukyu does not quite know where he is from or who his parents are, as he grew up in a run down orphanage on the outskirts of Ivywood. In his youngest years he spent most of his time listening to stories that the head of the orphanage would read to them about heroes in far off lands, superheroes in big cities, and police detectives finding bad guys. Thus started his fascination with heroism and wanting to help other people. Most of his time was spent trying to help the head of the orphanage take care of the other kids, he would often skip meals so the others could eat, run away so she didn't have to pay for his expenses. This honestly always worried the woman and would constantly try her best to keep him from doing such harmful things for someone else's sake. There was only so much she could do when she was stretched so thin. Due to his busy schedule he remained fairly uneducated and still has no idea how to read or write. Thus he chooses to express his words in pictures.
He has always had a way with pokemon, especially ghost types. He always seemed to understand what they meant and they seemed to understand him despite his choice and habit to not say even a single word. His gifted nature with Ghost types has basically guaranteed a strange life and scored him a job as a mystic once he reached the proper age.
After being under the teachings of a very very strange Mystic who specializes in exorcisms and has a bad reputation with the Police Force, he moved on to working with the police on cases that could involve supernatural influences or Ghost Pokémon. Now he has somehow made his way into living in a supply closet in the Police Station and helping around with small tasks.
