“This vibrantly coloured bird resides in Tick Swamp where it will eat anything and since it's so shy, it's rarely seen by humans."
Name: Perosian Phoenix
Species: Pheasant
Chosen Design Elements: I wanted to make a graceful bird which ended up being part harpy eagle, part green peafowl and part heron. It was originally going to be a LOT less colourful, but i scrapped the colouring and made it a lot brighter because it looked nicer. I wanted to make the face extra bright and make it stand out more so I gave it a rainbow because that totally stands out. Since the feet were going to be based off of the two-toed imprint from the last challenge, I only gave it two claws/toes and sincethey looked a bit dull, I made them pretty. All in all I just like bright colours and pretty things(cough cough Naedir cough cough).
Description: Persosian phoenixes are large birds that make their homes in Tick Swamp. Their main diet consists of insects, poisonous snakes and fish. They don't produce their own toxins, but they get it from the snakes they eat instead. They are good fliers but usually don't see the need to unless they're in danger, prefering to walk or paddle through water.
Their main form of defense is to fly away, but they will fight if backed into a corner. They're extremely smart and will avoid any form of trap or anything unusual such as items left by humans. Since they're so rarely seen sometimes their abilities and power are a bit exaggerated in legends, such as their tail feathers curing any illness but this is completely false.
As long as they're socialized or imprinted on humans when they're young, they can make friendly pets that are very talented performers. They can learn all sorts of complex commands but require an extremely large space to roam/fly in and constant mental stimulation, but they're very expensive and time consuming to keep. It's not reccomended as they are very likely to get ill or depressed in captivity, especially if kept in an avirary or cage of somesort. They're also very likely to chase other pets or animals and kill them for fun if they're not kept entertained.
