Description

Island Equestrian Centre is a 600 Acre show yard, based in Berlin, the capital of Germany. With a new section and american barn for rescue and rehabilitation. The stables used to be family run, but now is home to those who wish to make a difference.
We have been run for the last 60 years by the Murray Family, Starting with George Murray, who handed it down through the years to his granddaughter, Ellie Murray, after his wife, Kate Murray, passed away at the age of 75. George passed away at 83, leaving the stables to Ellie.
Ellie became the owner of IEC 10 years ago when she was just 16; now 26. She has been working rescue and rehabilitation since she took over the yard, with help from Martin Smith. They hired all of their staff anew, as they felt the family run aesthetic wouldn't last if they didn’t bring outside people in to help.
