- Officer Katydid is a member of the Hive's main swarm force. In the story, he is responsible for mentoring Prince Phasmatodea in the art of spellcasting. Katydid is a prominent figure in Phasma's early life in the hive.
- Katydid should be viewed as a friendly individual who has a sense of duty behind his friendly exterior.
- To make Katydid more recognizable, I gave him cracks in his chitin (due to his duties as a soldier) and differently designed ears.
