Description
Hello!...Thanks for being here
This baby Giraffe was almost 6" tall.
Made with Cold Porcelain...this clay is beautifully soft, clean & very easy to knead...(that's the secret..knead the clay as you work on the piece).
Used one styrofoam ball for the head & one for the body...the neck & legs are solid clay.
All the cold porcelain clay I work with...I make it myself.
The colors I am using for now are the small bottle ones like...FolkArt acrylics...although for the white or black color I started with oils until I get the mixing right...hehehe...
Hope you like her...

Oh gosh... everything, it's all so adorable. The ears, the eyes, the mouth, the little "horn" things, the spots and "freckles", the tail, the flowers, the flower colar, the *insides* of the ears, the nostrils(hehe), the legs, the body...
How can you ever part with these? I don't know that I could.

i was looking at your sculptures because of the DD, and thought "the only way this gallery could be any better is if she had a gira---HEY A GIRAFFE!"
i think you could easily make a fortune off of making these. they're THAT GOOD.

She looks a bit top-heavy. She doesn't ever fall over?

Actually, as she was drying, she started to tilt to one side...so I let her dry laying down on foam...when she was dried, I added her brown hooves so she was fine after that...and it did't fall over in all the time I had her..

Absolutely Adorable! Had to FAV this one.
What is cold porcelain and do you make the colors yourself?

The colors I use for now are the little FolkArt acrylics...they already come the color/shade I need & all I do is add the color to the clay and knead it well until it mixes into the clay all over.
See my new journal entry...I just wrote some info on Cold Porcelain.
