Update 10/18/15 - Mega Evolution achieved! Everything marked with
G E N E R A LNAME: Ronan Galloway
AGE: 25
GENDER: Male
MOVESET:
Thunderbolt - A strong electric blast is loosed at the foe. It may also leave the foe paralyzed.
Night Slash - The user slashes the foe the instant an opportunity arises. It has a high critical-hit ratio.
Psycho Cut- The user tears at the foe with blades formed by psychic power. It has a high critical-hit ratio.
Heal Pulse- The user emits a healing pulse which restores the target's HP by up to half of its max HP.
C I R C U SJOB: The Circus' "Dragon Master" - Ronan’s past experience dealing with one of the most vicious and dangerous Dragon-Types around acclimates him to perform at his – and his partners’ – best. He is responsible for preparing the beasts for shows, training them, caring for them, and overall ensuring that he is able to keep them under his full control in the arena of the Big Top. Ronan's show features three dragons – a female Hydreigon he calls Vasilissa; pronounced “Vah-Silly-Sah” It’s Greek for Queen because Hydreigon is based on the Greek Hydra and she thinks she rules the arena ge dd i t, a Charizard called Kybosh and a Garchomp named Gaia. Though trained to obey Ronan's command, they should not be approached without the Gallade present and attentive, as they are more than capable of causing severe bodily harm. These Dragons are not pets, and though they may appear as such around their handler, and Ronan will remind anyone of that if need be. No one is permitted near them, no one touches them, and no one does anything to them without Ronan knowing about it and signing off on it - or doing it himself. Anyone who fails to meet these standards may not only have to deal with three dangerous beasts on them - but a livid Gallade as well.
WISH: "A wish?...Heh...a wish...I wish...I could be like my father. My mother always went on about him, how great he was...how confident and stong he was...what I wouldn't give to be a Gallade like him..."
BACKFIRE: Ronan is a Gallade, in a body that is both stereotypically stronger than his previous Gardevoir form, and a body he enjoys fully. He does not acknowledge his past form, nor does he like dwelling on the past in general, as he focuses more on moving forward and advancing in things rather than looking back on what has happened in his life, though he can get some pretty hard-to-ignore reminders. The thing is, Ronan turned into something that is nearly exactly like his father. Though Ronan really never knew his old man, he does exhibit some clear behaviors that his father would, and he shares interests, dislikes, and multiple key features both physical and mental that his dad had. For example, his father had a short fuse and a quick temper to go with his tongue - Ronan is the same way. His dad also favored his right - Ronan was born a lefty and suddenly changed to a righty. He acquired a far more analytical mind than he had before his transformation. The list of examples could go n and on. Ronan essentially has begun losing his personal identity and it's being replaced by his father's identity. Not only that, but his form is quite like his father's as well, including lichtenberg figure extending up his right arm as a result of overusing the move Thunderbolt. Now, things get interesting. If Ronan uses his moves in the circus, he'll be fine - aside from the general aches and pains of the intense workout his show gives him, he's okay. But if he uses moves OUTSIDE the circus grounds, that spells trouble. The lichtenberg figure on his arm will grow, should he extert his energy with ANY of his moves in his set. This causes a great deal of agony, and the only way to make the pain stop is to get back to the circus - where the mark will shrink to it's original size painlessly, only to grow again should Ronan ever dare to pull such a stunt again. If he does, the pain becomes significantly worse than before, basically picking up where it left off and the mark grows faster. It's an escalating effect. Combined with his father's violent disposition that he recieved from the wish (and the fact that he's part Fighting-Type to begin with) this really does a number on Ronan. He likes using his moves too much to quit using them, so he really can't leave the Circus and abstain from battling with his moveset.
HISTORY
Ronan - originally called Rowan - was born into a very wealthy family with a single mother and two identical twin sisters in the town of Solaceon in Sinnoh. Here's the kicker - Ronan wasn't originally a male. Nope, he was born a female Ralts, who could have anything and everything she could ever want. Nearly anything, at least. What she REALLY wanted growing up wasn't material possessions, it wasn't what her mother's money could buy her - it was to be something different than what she was. As a child, Rowan was fascinated by the males of her species, as they had the choice when they were older to evolve into either Gardevoir or Gallade. Females had no such choice. Of course, the little girl didn't know that for quite a while, and constantly went on about how she was going to evolve into a Gallade, no matter what her mother told her. She didn't want to be a Gardevoir. She wanted to be a big, strong Gallade - much like her father, whom her mother told her stories about. She would tell her girls about the man and how powerful he was, and because Rowan had never actually met her father, she latched onto these stories and constantly asked for her mother to retell them - though, the older woman sometimes refused.
This feeling Rowan had did not go away. In fact, as she evolved, it became stronger. As a Kirlia, she would roughhouse with the other boys in town, looking for a way to be stronger, tougher, only to be dragged away by her mother and scolded for her actions, which were very much inappropriate for a young lady like herself. Rowan even got her hands on a Dawn Stone at one time, and she held it every day, hoping that she would evolve into a Gallade until her mother took it from her. Nothing worked. Nothing could bend nature, and she became exceedingly frustrated, both with herself and the world. This frustration would often lead to violent acts, especially after her half-forced evolution into a Gardevoir, and she would fight not with the guys, but with the girls now too. She wasn't allowed with other male company for some time, in an effort to calm her down and make her accept her form. The Gardevoir even gained an enemy thanks to her behavior - a Spiritomb girl by the name of Gwendolyn Blake. After Rowan had tried to goad Gwen's younger sister into picking a fight with her, Gwen stepped up to the plate instead, and from that moment on, the two loathed each other, and fought constantly. Thanks to extensive training from her own Gallade father, Gwendolyn always won in their little scuffles - which infuriated Rowan all the more.
There came a day when one of their fighting went too far. Rowan, after years of being tormented by the Spiritomb malice, picked up Gwen's Odd Keystone, and essentially forced her bystanding sisters to help her throw it into the river near town. Though hesitant and rather reluctant, the girls obeyed - not only was Rowan their older sister, but she was not a person you wanted to argue with, not even back then. With her enemy vanquished, she and her sisters went back into town - only to see they had been beaten there. Gwen had been swept downstream, and had obviously crawled out of the water to lay waste to whoever stood between her and vengeance. She had been waiting for Rowan. The Gardevoir has nowhere to run and nowhere to hide, and Gwen took great pleasure in beating her to a pulp, stopped only by her father, who arrived on scene to stop his eldest daughter from causing any further damage. Rowan was taken to safety to be tended to, leaving the scene before anything worse could occur. When she awoke, she found that Gwendolyn had left her with a scar upon her scalp as a result of the assault - and not only that, but the Spiritomb had murdered her own father in a rage. The bitterness and discontent that had been eating at Rowan was the worst it had ever been while she was waiting to recover. She hated her form, hated her very life it seemed, and she hated the Spiritomb for hurting her so badly that she was forced to just lie there and think about herself and her weakness for days in the hospital. Her sisters and mother tried to distract her, bringing her gifts and other treats while she was undergoing treatment, but nothing took her mind off it.
She sank into something that could be classified as a kind of depression - she was unhappy with the way her life was turning out, and angry that nature could not allow her to be whom she wanted to be. She lost interest in doing things she once found enjoyable, and became quieter and less focused on activities. Her family noticed this change in behavior and scrambled to try and pick up Rowan's fallen spirit, but nothing seemed to help. This went on for quite a while, and her condition only worsened. She wasn't feeling better about herself, shutting out friends and loved ones to mope alone in her room, long after her release from the hospital. She tried to move on with her life, she really did, but nothing seemed to work and everything got so much harder for her. Her mother was pressuring her to find a proper man to marry, her sisters were growing up, and she never gave up her desire to be something she wasn't - a Gallade. She ignored her mother fully after some time, doing what she wanted - acting out of a woman's role, and more into a man's. That improved her mood a little, but not by much.
Rowan was of course pushed to conform rather hard by her mother, who brought in professionals to continue the lessons the young woman had grown bored of. Her mother’s patience was running out, and in an effort to push Rowan forward in the world, she sent her daughter away – to be in her mother’s country of birth, Kalos. Rowan liked the independence she had, but was still faced by the pressures society placed upon women to fit the image of a loyal wife and mother. It was impossible to find someone with good sense, in Rowan’s mind at least – until she met one whom she was able to finally connect with. A Liepard, who was a servant to the man whom her mother had sent her to live with in Kalos until she was healed. He was the one that did her the most good – as he knew how she felt. Having a color pallet like that and flower designs on your fur didn’t exactly scream ‘manly’ after all. His greatest achievement was getting her to focus on something besides her form – and what better thing to focus on than an exotic ‘pet’ that the Master of the house had? It was a common thing, for the rich to have rare and expensive animals so as to display their wealth, and had been for centuries –a Hydreigon was no exception. Unfortunately, just because they look good doesn’t mean they’re doing good – the dragon was ill-tempered and vicious, true to its species’ nature. With the Liepard though, it was a different creature – as it respected him as much as he respected it (plus of course the Liepard took quite good care of it). Of course, seeing the Liepard work as he did with the beast made Rowan want to learn the same skills – and over time, she did, with the help of her friend. The Hydriegon slowly warmed up to her, and she gained experience on how to handle his kind. According to the Liepard, his father had bred dragons as a profitable business before he died and left his son in debt. Rowan was fascinated by the beast, and by others of his kind. Without the interaction she had, she may have sank farther into her depression, having been left with her thoughts instead. Had she been able to stay, the way she thought about things in general would have changed dramatically.
Nothing gold can stay however. An incident occurred involving all who were under the same roof of the Master’s. Ronan currently refuses to acknowledge it in any way, shape, or form, however, and will not even speak names. To him, it never happened, he just likes to think that he went home one day and that was it. Meanwhile, as a result of the incident, Rowan was sent home again. Better in some ways….and worse in others.
Being back with her family was a slight transition. There was no Liepard there, nor a Hydreigon that she could focus on. Her sisters were a good distraction, but her mother came down on her head when she arrived home, believing all was well and Rowan was ready to move forward into the life of a well-off woman. She honestly wasn’t though, and that became quite apparent. Still, they tried to coax her into that sort of life slowly – going on many outings together over the course of time, trying to get Rowan to work with society and the standards she had to live up to, but she just would not succumb. Finally, there came a day when the family was on vacation deeper within the Sinnoh region and decided to go on a little outing to a circus that had come to town. It was a pretty desperate move, considering that a family of such high standards would have probably preferred the entertainment of something more...regal. Yet, anything for Rowan that could be done was done - and still the blue Gardevoir stayed blue, in every sense of the word.
Until she met Mr. Dark.
The man scared her from the start, quite honestly. He was dark and very well-dressed, but given that she was a Gardevoir, she could sense a kind of sinister air following the man. Yet, he seemed quite kind, introducing himself as a gentleman would and asking her what she thought of his circus. She shook off her initial gut feeling about him, thinking as though her feelings were messing with her ability to read into people now, and gave a half-hearted response, telling him that it was nice, but not exactly her cup of tea. The Darkrai questioned her further, asking if he could make her experience any better, to which she scoffed and replied that if he could do that, it would make her very LIFE better. It was then that he offered her a wish. A single wish, for anything she desired, and he would make it happen. She stared at him for a while, thinking about it. This was obviously some stupid trick. Yes, he was a Darkrai who ran a circus, what could HE possibly do? Nothing. Still, she wanted to get her troubles off her chest and out into open air somehow, and he was practically inviting her to do so right then anyhow. So she obliged him, saying:
"A wish?...Heh...a wish...I wish...I could be like my father. My mother always went on about him, how great he was...how confident and stong he was...what I wouldn't give to be a Gallade like him..."
The Darkrai's grin stretched wider, and he spoke once more,"...Well then let's make a deal. I will grant your wish...and you will work for me. Does that sound fair?"
"Only if you give me what it is I desire." Rowan responded. "If from some miracle you can make that possible...then yes, you have a deal."
"Then consider it done."
It was all a blur after that. The last thing she ever remembered was the pain. It shot up her arm and was so intense, she couldn't even formulate a sound. She blacked out in seconds. That was the end of Rowan, and just the beginning of Ronan. When the reborn soul awoke, he scrambled to his feet and looked around, first coming face to face with the Darkrai again. When he went to ask what had happened, he realized his voice was deeper. Also, the trenchcoat he was wearing was too small, same with pretty much all his clothes. The Darkrai just smiled at him. Ronan stared at himself, seeing what had happened. He was a Gallade. At long last, he had what he wanted. He felt so perfect. So free. So...right in this form. It was an indescribably good feeling. Now if only he could have gotten some better fitting clothes right then...
"Remember our deal...Mister Galloway." The Darkrai said after Ronan had thanked him about five thousand times. He remembered - oh, he remembered well. He would have to work for the Darkrai. He didn't know for how long - but honestly, he didn't care. He had what he had wanted for so long at last, so of course he would honor the deal. He felt good for the first time in what felt like an eternity.
He wouldn't feel that way for long.
P E R S O N A LPERSONALITY
Pros:
Adaptable - Whatever you throw at Ronan, he's normally fairly good at adapting to it, be it something you said or did. It's how he is as a Gallade and quite literally his father's son. He acts almost like a soldier, dealing with whatever you give him and figuring out how to handle it. He may not necessarily LIKE it, but the guy can manage. This applies to battles as well, adapting to best match up against another's battle tactics, watching them closely for any habits or weaknesses to exploit to win.
Brave- Being a Gallade, Ronan is brave by nature. It could almost be considered foolhardy how bold this guy is. He's not one that's easily frightened in the least, and will go up against adversaries twice his size without too much of an issue. If something scares him, it's usually something that could scare any mortal mon half to death - and this guy does NOT like being scared. At all. Ever. He gets angry when he's scared. Aggressive. Not pleasant for anyone when that happens.
Intelligent - Ronan remembers everything from his past - including his education. The lessons he was able to recieve thanks to his family's wealth. He's multilingual, and capable of various skills that require one to have a good education to do. Because of this, he's also brutally logical, and can be harsh when it comes to laying down the cold hard facts as they are without really intending to. He also doesn't really like being proven wrong.
Energetic- Ronan is almost ALWAYS moving. He can be on his feet, awake and alive in moments, and he stays awake for long hours and gets up early in the morning. Part of this is because of how he is as a Gallade, but there is also the fact that he is his father's son - it is very rare for Ronan to get tired. He's always working to keep his body and mind in the best state they can be, and he usually allows nothing to distract him from that. When he does need a rest though, he'll sleep just about whenever, wherever.
Independent- This guy is very self reliant. He honestly does not like accepting help from others, and will commonly push people away in favor of following his own path and suffering the consequences that come with his decisions. At least that way, he feels that there is no one to blame but himself should he fall short of his intentions - and he won't take his anger out on someone who can't handle it.
Protective- This is one of the few positive attributes Ronan got from his wish. Like his father before him, if Ronan considers something a belonging of his - be it an object or a person - he becomes fiercely defensive of it. A move to insult or Arceus forbid take whatever it is Ronan is protecting will more than likely result in a fast and violent response from the Gallade, as he will lash out to ensure you don't attempt it again; meaning he will leave you with a verbal warning, or a real wound to remember it.
Cons:
Vain- Ronan is really quite happy with his appearance. He keeps himself looking his best too - he shines his blades, takes immediate care of any wounds he recieves so they heal well, and the lichtenberg figure - despite it being a scar - is something he wears with pride. It's not exactly that he finds himself to be some kind of unrivaled attractive man, he just really likes this new form as opposed to his old one.
Ruthless- When it comes to the nitty-gritty, Ronan tells it like it is, how it is. He does not care about your opinion, a fact is a fact. If you take it badly, it sucks to be you. His brutally logical state of mind doesn't really let him be sympathetic usually, so he'll say something and not understand why you're upset if that's how things go down. He also has a bad habit of - when facts are not called for - stating his own horribly blunt opinion. He's also harsh in the physical sense - he will go all out in battles, just as he does in shows. He knows mercy. Not exactly restraint.
Short Fuse- Though Gallades may be masters of swordsmanship and courtesy, Ronan's father was not exactly a picture perfect model of his species. He was a violent guy - easily provoked, and easy to pick a fight with. He has very little patience, very little restraint, and his lust for battling others can be commonly mistaken with an intense desire to cause bloodshed. Really, this is the downside of Ronan's curse acting on him - and this is part of what makes it impossible for him to leave the circus, since he often will use his moves to blow off some steam when he becomes angry for whatever reason.
Detached- Ronan likes keeping people at arms length. He simply doesn't want to deal with any emotional attachments, so anything he does is more or less a heat of the moment type of thing. He expects no long term commitments, nor does he really want any at this point, when he's still testing out his new form and seeig what he's capable of. The thing is, he may appear like he's interested in a commitment, but honestly...that's not true. It's hard for him to get attached to something, unless it holds great value in his eyes.
Deceptive- This guy is has a silver tongue and is a well-practiced liar. As much as he may claim to love the truth and all, he REALLY doesn't like it when it reveals things about himself he doesn't want to have known. So...he has learned to lie as well as he can speak truth. He's used to no one arguing against him either, given both his social status and the fact that he can make a convincing story right off the top of his head - no one's ever really wanted to engage him in an arguement or a debate either, given his short temper. Uncovering his secrets and whatnot puts him in a bad position, as he can no longer lie to you and has to resort to making deals and whatnot to ensure you keep your lip zipped. That, or he'd have to silence you permanently. But he can't do that in the circus, now can her?
Seemingly Indifferent - Ronan more often than not has a poker-faced expression on, and he will only ever smile when he feels that the situation is appropriate for him to do so. He doesn't look like he cares a lot of the time - if he smiles at you, it's either a really good thing or a really bad thing. Maybe both. This guy sticks to facts most often time, and his opinions are as merciless as the man who concocted them is.
