Compositionally this photograph is beautiful. I love how the contrast seems silvery. The planes of the walls and the floor meet at just the perfect place that makes it have such a great depth but if your looking at the bookcase wall it seems very flat because of the repetition. Excellent.

yes, you're right - there is a kind of silvery shimmer to it.
i spent a lot of time getting the tones and light
just right. so yr positive feedback is very
welcome!
thanks for really looking at the photo too.
i can tell you did and that makes me happy.

Real. True. Real. True.

This one is so harsh, so rude ( the french word, not the english one ). Exceptionnel.
I failed. I took another self portrait, that's terrible. I promised myself i wouldn't, but i failed. Whatever.
I've got a model now, that's great. Gives me something to do that is dealing with something else than maths.
Gives me inspiration.

i don't believe in that word 'failed'.
failed is only when you don't try at all.
so you, mon cherie, never fail.

Oh my goodness. That photo right there is like, my ultimate fantasy, or something. A collection of lone wolves, each one absorbed in their readings. Plus a really good cup of tea. Perfect photo.

what makes this picture outstanding is not the calm & silent feeling of the cafe... it's the details and the different shades of grey in the books that make it better.
great one.

great LIVE capture! there are so much lines: the books, the bookcase, the chairs the huge window. On the desk i like so much that huge book (i think is the catalogue) and the guy on the left with the foot on the window's sill, there are plants... there are so many things to "spy" and five completely different universe to discover.
great contrast, great b/w, a wonderful capture! clap clap

it's hard to believe you don't get SOME interesting comments with 556 people watching you.
most of the comments i get are very bland too. 'nice'! or 'great shot'!
but once in awhile you get some jewels..
thanks for yr comment and fave, dear.

I would love to go and hang out at a place like that. I'm drawn to the atmosphere of this picture... it's very intellectual and urban. I'm also fascinated by the books... there's so many beautiful books! I think another thing that draws me to this picture is the fact that no one is sitting with anyone else, and no one is looking up. They're all in their own little worlds oblivious to those around them. No one is smiling either... and they're all facing different ways. This is the sort of picture that I feel like I could stare at for half an hour and still find new things in it... their shoes, their bags, their posture, the chairs, the plants... there's so much in this picture but as a whole it still seems simple. Absolutely marvellous.

ahh thanks love. yes, that's why the name 'i pods' - they are all 'i's in their own little pods.
thanks for looking so closely at it. we all have such a tendency to try and
gulp down as much as we can without ever tasting anything.
and thanks for your re-visit. i know lots of people only
care about faves but i don't care about them nearly
as much as receiving one comment like this.
so thanks so much.

I'm going absolutely nutty looking at this picture. Each of the people appear to come from different styles of life. They all seem to have different styles and personalities but they're all sort of unified in this one setting. I love it how you captured all of the people being themselves... the guy in the back with his foot on the table... all of their expressions seem so natural it's almost setup. And for some reason I'm thinking of spies... just someone will walk by and switch a bag, or slip a newspaper to someone... one will get up and the rest will casually follow. It just seems suspicious to me... to surreal to have the dynamics of the people like that. Oh goodness, I'm falling more and more in love with this picture because it makes me think of stories or tales for each of the people... it really spurrs my imagination.

i'm really thrilled to hear how much you like this shot but
please do not recommend it for a DD! you see, it already
has 370 faves and i have already had 3 DD's and it's
not fair to others who have so much talent and have
not even had one single DD yet.
but i appreciate your desire to see it as a DD.
that's very sweet of you.
