Oh yes, it is fascinating regardless if you would think this is madness or not. I know that you are attracted by this side of life by the pictures you take

yes, though i am continually asking myself why. "because it's real. it's raw. no masks. no one else is doing it." etc..
but there's something more. deeper. that i haven't reached yet. it's not at all that i feel i want to try it.
i only am compelled to document. but the 'why' echoes in me. maybe i'll know some day.

Maybe it's connected with the "No pain" thing.
For me. The pain is just a warning which you can either listen or not.
If not you simply start to feel no pain.
If yes you simply give up to pain.
Most of the people give up, it's natural to follow your own instincts, thats why, when you see someone who "gotta feel pain, but he doesn't" you are somehow shocked, disturbed and amazed... these are the same feelings you probably feel about "The Heroes" from the tales... but in this case it is simply real.

Or, better, maybe you will never really find out, urging you to keep searching - the road travelled is more interesting than the destination.

Don't you love it when a subject provides their own lighting?
Wonderful image, Katia! So surreal and yet very human...
