Description
Just a draft of part 3 in the American Splenda series.Really, this is more of a filler for me since I kind of wanted an official announcement from the doctor, but wasn't sure where the joke was. I came up with several other scripts before deciding on this, but I'm still on the fence about it even though I'm confident that this was the strongest version of this particular set-up.

Ditto on both of the above. A muttered "How lovely" would serve as a funny punchline, instead of the hard blow from the doctor. If funny is what you're going for, of course. My girlfriend Steff was diagnosed at age 7, and my mother found out 3 years ago that she's diabetic too. Steff in particular likes gallows humor.

My suggestion is to make Drew a nervous happy in the first two panels to make him have an appearance of pseudo-confidence. that way it's more effective for the final panel.
